hi,I have an orange coloured glass window/reflector on the side of the main front headlight (is a part of the entire light I guess). I thought this might be the lights for the left and right turn indicator but it doesnt look like it, since the left and right indicator lights are in the front of the main headlight. Is it not working or am I mising something. I have a versa SL sedan just in case.

Yes. It's a reflector. It reflects. It's for safety. At night, the light from other car's headlights hits it and reflects back so they see the car.

All cars and trucks sold in the U.S. must have reflectors on the side of the vehilce. Orange or amber reflectors near the front and red reflectors near the rear. Come to think of it, motorcycle must have this as well.
