Head/Upper front cover leveling

So when I had the head machined, I didnt give them the upper front cover, just wondering how big of a deal it is, the front cover is about 8/1000 of an inch longer then the head now. Any solutions?

probably not really a big deal, considering .008" is the thickness of 3 human hairs.

Im trying to picture this cover. If its anywhere the head meets the deck it a 100% guarantee the HG will not seat properly.

Once I set the bolts in (it was just on the centering pins when I measured) the difference was more like .001" so its no big deal
