I didnt snap any pictures after everything was completely assembled, both cams and cam gears are there, nothing to worry about.
TeckniX wrote:I'm lovin' this more and more. :) Glacier985 did you look up the other post that suggested the 180 rotation, meaning that with de timing, you could be 180 off? Dunno if you saw it or not, but I know I had problems on an sr20 a few months back, and it ended up being 180 timing off. Take more pics of the setup, and it would be great if you could remember what other plugs u had to change. :)

yea, I saw that my timing might be off 180, thats what a couple of my friends suggested, but right now Im trying to get a set of SR fuel injectors, like Smug510 suggested. And I am trying to take as many pictures as I can and I know what plugs I had to change. My plan is to do a little write to help people through the process.

Dude, I got my SR injectors with a SR fuel rail and stock FPR for $90. You should be able to get the injectors for way cheaper.

well i'm about to call it quits. I am getting so ****ing pissed at this motor. I took the front cover back off and compleletly re-timind everything. I matched the colored links with the dots on the gears, I triple checked it, and then put the cover on. I made sure the distributor key, half moon thing, was about 11-1130 and its right there, still is to when its at TDC. Cams are stilll timed right, i've checked them. SO why the hell will the car not ****ing start???????errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. IT'll start and run for about 5 seconds if I spray starting fluid into the intake. I got a new distributor on the way, a set of 8mm spark plug wires, already got new plugs and bought some SR injectors today and after all that if it doesn't start. I dont know what I will do. Im about to throw my SOHC head back on, just so I can drive it again.

Id suggest trying the old KA injectors.. The DOHC are the same size arent they?... maybe the resistance is different.

hahahahahaha........I'm so happy, but yet I feel retarded at the same time. My fuel pump fuse was blown so no fuel was getting in the cyclinders. I changed and like nothing it started, didn't run to good, but I only 87 octane. Now I just need those new spark plug wires and fuel injectors to get here.

I also have a slight problem, I have fuel leaking out of my fuel rail where the hose connects, is this caused by all the pressure??? Or is the hose just not tight enough???

not tight enough.. is the end of the fuel rail flared? You want that thing so freakin tight that it starts to break the screwdriver. lol.. now that your car is running, check your timing..

new pictures as of today, my valve cover is going to get powder coated, dark purple sometime, right now its kind of ****ty looking. I did "debadge" it by removing the Nissan 16 valve letters, looks better I think.

make sure its tight, not cracked, and your FPR is operating correctly because it could be raising the pressure too high.

how can i tell if my FPR is operating correctly??? I think it might be that the hose isn't on tight enough, and it better not be cracked since I just bought it two weeks ago.

damn dude.. this looks all hella tight. :) I'm happy ur **** is working now man, cuz it definitely gives me something to look forward to. Well Ima be gettin' my 90 soon, and I think the DOHC swap will come up. I think I got everything I needed, so it will be fun. :P

Good lookin' out on the fuel pump man.. it sucks though.. cuz it's always those little things that we don't check. I like the new Sig btw - Do you feel like making a How-To , so we can make it a sticky??

The How-To is coming, I just don't wanna finish it until the car is running as best as I can get it. I still have to hook up the cooling system, get my SR injectors in and run it on 93 octane.

Do the sr injectors fit the ka24de injector plugs? or do you also have to get some sr injector plugs??

I would know if I had the plugs, but I dont. I had to hardwire the fuel injectors.

I need some more help. My car misfires real bad, it doesnt even want to idle at times. Could it be that I'm dont have any 93 octane in my gas tank and that I need bigger injectors or is my timing off???

well i edited it becuase i wasn't sure it was right :oface

anyway. Could i run 91 on this swap with stock timing? I also wanted to know if there was any part problems in the transition? Will the sohc headgasket work?

im going to be ordering a dohc head soon and porting it. thats why i am asking so many questions...

can i use the sohc header? i know the de intake manifold flows better.

I think u need the dohc headers cuz the sohc ones don't bolt up to the head ;)

Yeah.. SOHC manifold is like this

OO___OO

the DOHC exhaust manifold is like

O_O_O_O

i know its extremly simple drawing.. but it gets the point across...

You will basically need everything from intake to exhaust side.. pretty much a whole DE, minus block/pwr steering/ac/water pump..

i just noticed in thoughs pictures how roomy it is in the engine bay. Time for some rust repair while the head is out :)

I noticed he took out his PS i want to do that >_<. But i asked in many threads and no one would answer me.

I bought a timing cover seals set. but its only for the E... I guess thats another part i need to exchange along with the timing kit i bought.
