I have an 89 240sx with the ka24e motor...i turbo'd it, and a day later blew a ring.... so i pulled the head ( that was a pain in the @#$!!!!) and i have a few questions... here they go...

1. heard something about secondary butterflies in the intake manifold.... is that just the DOHC motors...or was i given the gift of those too?

2. If i am one of the chosen ones... how do i remove/disable them...

and last but not least...

3.. How the F@!#& do i get the damn intake manifold separated fromt he head!?!?!?!?!? i took all the nutts off and the thing won't budge!!! i have even gone to town with a rubber mallot with no prevail!! Is there a secret trick that i should know about like doing some sort of damn dance on the night of a full moon while chanting my 240 is god?!?!?!

as you can see i am mildly psychotic... please ignore me.. too many fumes from carb cleaner etc...

You didn't get all the bolts. Trust me. There's several REALLY long bolts on top of the manifold.

if worse comes to worse.. drop the engine off from really high up.. and if that doesnt break the intake manifold loose.. well then u got a problem.. oo better yet.. u can tie a string around the intake manifold.. onto a big truck.. and then tie another sting around the block it self.. and tie that to a truck.. and thye can have a tug of war with ur engine!!!!! and if that doesnt work.. take it a nuke testing area.. and let em bomb it.. forget about it.. and go buy a new one!

dude it really shouldnt be this hard...it takes a little time and it sounds like you've spend alot more than just that...check your FSM and make extra positive you got all the bolts...i'm gonna tell you where all the bolts are just in case you dont have a FSM...pretend you're looking at the engine from the passenger side...on the top there is one bolt to the right of cyl 1. intake runner(cyl one is at front of car just so there's no confusion), there are two between runners 2 and 3, then one to the left of cyl 4.

now for the bottom....there's one to the very!! bottom right of the manifold, then there's one between cyl. 1 and 2, then there's one between cyl 3 and 4...those on the bottom are really long and pop out at the bottom of the little "tower?" things that hold on the fuel rail...you must not have got those off man...i think they're between the runners that they go between...get it?...and the one that's all the way to the right is hard to get at..use an adjustable wrench and take your time...hope that helps man...now go pull your head off
