head lights flickering

i just bought a 99 sentra gxe, with 118000 miles. the car seems to run fine but the head lights and clock flickers. there is no aftermarket system in the car. the one time i have had problems with car lights dimming ment the altinatoring was going. im wonders if thats the case this time. any imput will be awesome , thanks
