This is definitely a first for me.

The HCU screen that displays the driver's and Passengers temp, fan speed, etc., decided to go off while the HVAC was in use when the headlights kicked on.

I already spent $270 for a one-time electrical diag at Nissan for another issue posted here recently, and I don't have the budget to waste another $270.

What should I look for and what steps I need to take to figure out what needs to be fixed?

Thank you in Advance.

PS: for those asking about mileage, the POS Rogue is about to cross 40k miles.

That display assembly is just that on a gen2 with Auto A/C, a screen and buttons. Its power comes from the AC Auto Amp, which actually runs the show. That's located on the bottom of the HVAC Unit, you can see it if you pull the passenger side kick panel off the center console. It can get wet if you have any sort of blockage in the evap drain causing the HVAC to overflow, so that's the first thing to check, make sure the connector isn't drowned.
