Hay you swaped the j30 in your car right? Well that what it said on your website. So did you do in when you wher still n/a cuz i was thinkin of geting it for the 3.9 gear but want to know how bad it will slow my lanch till i go turbo or will i be better off gettin a lsd from a 240

oh yea how far is your speedo off now??

Yeah..it's a 4% lower gear, so your speedo should be off 4%...but I found that mine read high anyway, so now it's dead on. I have checked it with a MDM-100 while I drove past one of those radar signs that says you speed...and they both matched. So it actually made mine more accurate, by chance.

And it will slow you down some, but if you run the gears out a little more (with an ECU upgrade) you can only use 3 gears to run the 1/4-mile, and that saves one shift, so you're actually faster.

If you make good torque, you can take advantage of gearing.

But really, we're talking 4% here...really not noticeable.

You're splitting hairs - Buy the damn thing and forget about the reduction.

And is ther any way to get back to dead on after i swap or just learn to read it??

Stock Nissan speedometers I've found are off +/- 5% or so anyway...I'd doubt yours is dead on anyway.

Are you running stock tires? If not, the speedo is probably already off by some small percentage...

Again, don't worry about it. If you want to check it, drive next to a newer and completely STOCK car and compare the speeds using a radio or cell phone...
