Having trouble rotating to TDC

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

My motor will turn over and hit the last line next to TDC and it wont go any farther. I'm using this big craftsman socket wrench and I broke the hell out of it. I took the belts off and took the timing chain for the cams off and i was still having trouble. What the hell is going on? Thanks :]

sounds kinda like the problem that i had with my old saturn...lol yah i know, stupid huh...well anyways...i had a spun main bearing but thats like the worst case!i had snaped my socket when trying to get it in the right position..
