I need a FWD ca from the 88 pulsar for a b12 sentra project im working on. These cars seem rare i can never find one localy. does anyone here know where i can find a complete motorset or complete pulsar. i already have a CA18DET iv been building for my s13 but i want to make a ca powered b12 now instead. my s13 will get an sr. i have had my b12 for about 2 years and have always thought of building it up. i also have a b13 ser for suspension and break parts. if anyone here has experiance with this conversion any info would be appreciated greatly. i plan to document everything about building the ca and doing the swap in great detail to contribute to this forum. sorry for the long post.

the ebay post said it had an awd transmission and the other post was a ca16de. is a ca16 and ca18 block the same or something? is it just internals makeing the differance in displacment?and the ebay post dosnt say anything about a harness or electronics. and they are some ebay no-name people iv never heard of and would not buy from.

umm, can you actually transplant the oil squirters into the FWD block? The flywheel is different too...

No, as they are machined into the block. But honestly, they aren't THAT important.

CA16 and CA18 are the exact same except the bore of the cylinders and the pistons and rods to match. the rods might even be the same but i am unsure.

The Ca18det block is the same from FWD to RWD, you can take any RWD ca18det and convert it to FWD in less than 30 mins. I have done of few of them. all what you have to do, is remove the throttle body and remove the plate that covers teh back of the intake from the RWD ca18det and swap them. so install the throttle body where the back plate was and visa versa, you need to hook up the coolant lines on the throttle body which are also located on the back of the back plate, no fabrication is required. You need to use the FWD engine mounts. Also, you need to replace the thermostate housing from RWD to FWD one as they point in the oposition direction. Also you need to extend the heat core hoses a bit, relocate the Alternator and power steering pump.

But as far as the blocks, the fWd and the RWD ca8det engine are identical. Also, the ca16de and the ca18de have the same block but different displacement, and have no oil squirters.
