Im doing my 5 speed swap and i am just about to get it dropped but the 2nd to last bolt on the upper driverside part of the transmission will not budge and i can not find a way to get it out, the space it self is very tight and i have tried multiple ways to get out. I am pretty much stumped now and don't know what to do next.

Does anyone have a certain technique and how to get the bolt out or a suggestion?

Thanks Bryan

best trick i found is to loosen the motor mounts and put engine hoist and strap under front of engine. This will cause engine and trans to tilt back to allow better access to bolt.. I used 1 locking swivel and impact 17mm, 2 extentions about 20 inches total, 1/4 to 3/8 adapter, and one large 1/4 breaker bar (about 30 inches long). That should provide PLENTY of torque to remove that bolt... You could always pull motor and trans together as last resort and then get a big *** impact gun to it.. good luck..

I don't have the option of putting it on the hoist although i thought about taking the header off, it annoys me because i know it is possible to take out with having to move anything i just don't know how

well I just did mine... and now get to do it again..lol. but I did take my down pipe on back off (it's one piece so really only three nuts from header and two hanger bolts.. think this time i may try to do it with exhaust still on (down pipe has flex mesh so maybe i'll get lucky... ) With NOPI being cancelled this year my time schedule just slowed down a bunch..lolI'll let ya know how mine works out..

The best way to do it is to take out engine and trans as one, 2nd best is the aforementioned way. I have had good luck with those swivel head ratcheting wrenches. Is the bolt you are talking about one of the larger ones along the top?

Yea it is its the bolt all the way at the top at the firewall the 2nd to last one, i went to a shop and my friend told me to get a swivel with a ball joint that it should help me bend it and get in properly. Hopefully that works

Thanks for the help guys im going to see how it works out
