has anyone tinted their qx4 windows...

I just got my front windows tinted on my '03 QX4. The match is not perfect but pretty close. The factory tint has a greyish medium tint in the back and the new tint is just a tad darker. I think it's because the front windows already had a slight tint, and the additional tinting made it darker . I'm already used to it and nobody can tell the difference. Not sure about your year though. Hope this kinda helps.

I'm in CA, and the tint shop told me to forget the front window tint because it's illegal in CA. I only had the sunroof tinted aftermarket.

I had a 96 pathfinder a while ago and it was hard as hell to match the front windows with the goldish tint in the back. I had my installer limo tint the back windows and then I 20% the front windows and it came out ok. It's still hard as hell to get to match up because the reflective tint the factory installed. Plus the front windows have a greenish look to them. I still have that problem now as my installer can't match the 20% window tint the factory has on the newer Qx4s. I had to put 20% tint over the factory tint to match it correctly and it's still off a little. Hard to see at night though.

I wish factory tinted/privacy glasses can change their darkness like some of glasses I wear. The brighter the sun the darker it changes to. Therefore they won't affect too much of night time driving.

It'll cost a lot more I guess.

I wouldn't mind paying for that option. My mom's ls430 does that. The hotter and brighter the sun, the darker the windows get automatically. I just wish it gets real dark. It would probably be illegal in most states though, i guess that's why automakers don't make them. That would be a good idea.
