When I do a cold start my car. My starter does not fully stop once I let go of the key after engine is started. You will hear it just go Errrrr for like 2 secs and stop.

I am thinking it is a bad solenoid. The whole odd part is... This will not make this sound or do this at all after the engine is at normal temp when I start it again. Could It need regreese around the gears or plunger? I don't really feel like dishing out like $150 bucks for a starter.

What do you think?

Try re-greasing it with some high-temp lithium grease. It may just be getting hung up.

If you get to a point where the starter doesn't engage, you can take a long screw driver, place it on the starter, and smack it with a hammer. This will normally only work a couple of times, but it will help you out in a pinch.

^ haha. back in the old days huh? I used to do that to my Grandfathers old Taurus. IT just would not start so I got pissed one day and went under and hit it with a crowbar. and Boom it started. I was like.. hmm it must be the excess metal dust causing starting issues and I just loosened it.
