I have my harness returned from the person who has wired it and there are some things wrong with it. The o2 sensor is a 1 wire connector and the ca has a 3 wire 02 sensor. He said he just extended the one on the harness i gave him and said it was 1 wire when i gave to him. The fuel injector plugs dont match the ones on the engine and he didn't even touch them because he said they should just line up. So did i get a harness from a different engine maybe a ca18de?

Tard, the car has a 3 wire.. His harness that he sent out and has now received back has the provisions for a SINGLE wire sensor.

pictures would help. it may not be the correct harness.

show us pictures of the plugs etc, overall, and the ecu connector; also see if it'll fit your DET ecu, which I presume you have..

as for 3 vs 1 wire, its possible he just cut and extended the 1 wire from the ecu end and cut off the other 2 wires (heater portion) but if its REALLY a 1 wire to begin with then yes, you don't have the right harness at all.

It plugs in evrywhere else incuding the ecu. The injectors dont match though.

maybe they were running some other type of injectors in japan and changed the injector plugs there...

and I run a 1 wire o2 sensor. The other 2 wires are just for the heating element, but if you don't run a heated o2 it doesn't really matter!

Running a heated O2 sensor isn't mandatory. You can just hook up the signal wire and the car will run fine. The other 2 wires are for the internal heater on the O2 sensor. It's the difference between it coming up to temperature in 15 seconds, and coming to temperature in a minute.

well that and the o2 is likely to fall out of operating range during long idles since the turbo is sucking up most of the heat that would normally keep it going.

you can just change the plug to fit a heated sensor and run +12V from something always on w/ the engine running and the other to ground (would have to check which wires go where on the plug ...)

or you can not care, it'll be fine most of the time, just might fall out of operating range while sitting still doing nothing.. oh no!

i think his injectors are what hes mostly worried about lol.. being that a car will start with trashy o2 sensor but somehow i doubt its going to without those injectors plugged in

We need pics of the injectors plug and the harness plugs. He shouldnt' have had to touch the injectors to do the wiring. If they don't plug in, you've either got non-standard injectors, or the harness was modified in Japan for non-standard injectors.
