hi, e

I drive a 96 maxima (automatic), and it started stalling at a lower RPM

so I took my car to a dealer and they went on a diagnostic

I got the result that says

"VEH HAS A POSSIBLE HARNESS BREAK & SHOTED ECU$3400.00 IF JUST THE EGI HARNESS OR $4200.00 IF ECU IS NEEDED ALSO"

I wonder if I can replace the car harness cheaper than that

I don't think I need to replace ECU, but I heard replacing harness

would be very expensive.

1. How much would it cost (approx) if I just change the harness at a local body shop

2. Will it be OK to use a used harness on my car?

The replacement of the harness will not be cheap regardless of who does the work.

Yes you can use a used harness.

I would recommend finding a used harness from http://www.car-parts.com and install it your self.

thanks for your comment

hm...by the way, I can't find "harness" from the list

is harness called something else or it's just not on there?

also, I'll try to change it by myself, but I don't have any info yet

do you know any sites, or article that shows how-to-do stuff?

thank you.

It's listed under Wiring Harness. The way I would do it is to lay the new harness out over the existing one, and disconnect/reconnect one thing at a time.
