hanging wire/panel in driver's footwell

Recently I had a small panel of some sort with a white wire fall down mostly behind the brake pedal toward the left side of the pedal. I'm recovering from back surgery and had a friend take a look, but he didn't find any place that looked like the piece fits. Anyone know where/how this is supposed to stay up out of the footwell? I don't want to get my foot caught. There just appears to be one wire and a connector attached from what I could see sitting in the driver's seat.

My current thoughts are either duct tape or zip tie it to something.

I was able to get a picture. I tried for a closeup, but not my camera decided there wasn't enough light or something. If this works, I'll have a picture attached to this.
