they're fun and all...but for a .22 lr semi, I won't be giving up my 10/22 anytime soon. I've got one that's about 10 years old, stainless with the good looking receivers.

The new receivers look like s*** on them...I think they may have gone to plastic or a pot metal

So I've had my concealed weapons permit for PA for almost 3 years but have not owned a pistol. That is until this weekend. I wanted something with decent power that was easily concealable. The Glock 26 was a contender however my big a$$ hands didnt enjoy the short grip and i found the double stack mag made it too (fat). My friend had a cheapo kel tec 9mm, until the spring weakened and had too many misfires he then sold it. So i wasnt even going to get near them. I went to a gun show this past weekend and found my handgun. A Kahr Arms CW-9 9mm with single stack mag 7+1 capacity. I am certainly aware that it is not the best handgun out there but after reading several reviews and the fact that they are american made and producued in MA. It is definatley concealable and holds very nicely. I took it out on sunday shot 50 rounds without problems and was able to put a nice grouping at 50ft +.
Heres the specs
Caliber: 9mm
Capacity: 7+1
Operation: Trigger cocking DAO; lock breech; "Browning - type" recoil lug; passive striker block; no magazine disconnect
Barrel: 3.6", conventional rifling; 1-10 right-hand twist
Length O/A: 5.9"
Height: 4.5"
Slide Width: .90"
Weight: Pistol 15.8 ounces, Magazine 1.9 ounces
Grips: Textured polymer
Sights: Drift adjustable white bar-dot combat rear sight, pinned in polymer front sight
Finish: Black polymer frame, matte stainless steel slide
Magazine: 1 - 7 rd, Stainless

It came with a 2nd mag heres a pic

cw's a nice little pistol.

for the money, it's hard not to want one.

I've got a PM9 that's a peach to shoot.

Yeah the price was what drew me to it. Then after reading some independent reviews I was sold. Picked it up used for $339 with 2 mags. What type of holster do you use for your PM9/carry pistols?

Yeah the mk9 is very nice and top of the line for Kahr 9mm. I'd imagine a little heavier without the synthetic body.

Well, actually the MK40, but the MK9 retains one of the characteristics that attract me, the fatter grip. The PM9 and really all of the PMs are too thin. My palm doesn't contact the grip at all and they squirm, even the P380. The fatter MKs let me get more hand on the gun. The second characteristic I like, but is less crucial in a 9mm, is the weight. I want an MK40 with a magnaport job as an ankle BUG. The Kahr's trigger is not attractive to me at all, but the rest of the gun makes up for it.

Despite its the size of a datsun, the fnh 5.7 was one of the most comfortable guns I've ever held.

Pretty light too since its mostly composed of Polymer.

Not a fan of that one, but their FNP is on my list. That's got more .45s in it than Billy Dee Williams' fridge! :naughty:

I like the FNP-45 Tactical. Especially with the Harris red dot on it.

and a big can.

Image

that's probably about 1800 dollars worth of fun for the pistol, the harris and the can. actually, throw in the stamp tax and I'm probably undershooting the price by a good bit.

edit: my mistake, that's a Dr Optic sight.

OOF! The AAC EVO Suppressor on it runs about 650 without the stamp tax included.

hmmm...wait, I think the tax is only 5 bucks on it though.

200 on the tax if my memory is correct. Since I am not deemed professional enough to own one i haven't looked into it.

the FNP and FNX 9's are some fine pistols.

I just don't really want anymore fullsize polymer frame pistols.

the balance isn't near as nice on them compared the steel.

I expect to see some targets after the first range trip.

I've heard they're retarded accurate.

This is my first handgun, the past month or so I've been renting and practicing with a glock 17.

So far im alright as long as the target isn't past 7 yds, I pick it up on the 13th so I'll definitely post the results. I've never seen anyone else own an fnh nor shoot one before, should be interesting.

I was looking at one, since there not on the MA ag's list yet. I can't buy a new one from a dealer and would have to resort to a used one with heck of a markup if i could find one.

I don't know if it's all their models, but the RIA 1911 I looked at at the gun show was so rough and nasty lookin.

it's a budget friendly park'd finish.

if you give them a good rub down with oil it smooths it out some.

the Matte nickel and polished nickel guns are pretty.

look at some high rez pics of them. I've got a Charles Daly that came out of the same plant but has more of a blued finish. For the 250 bucks new it was back in '03 it's a damn good looking pistol.

It's just the critical defense with a green tip, but don't tell the zombies! Their rifle ammo runs nice in all my stuff. I use Federal and Winchester in my handguns.

My XD loves hydrashok.

in the SP, white box semi jacked HP's shoot good. I haven't had the time or spare cash to go out and experiment with some more loads in a while though.

I still need to get my hands on a few boxes of Federal HST's in 9mm and .45

Being it's a federal premium load, I expect it to be accurate and the bullet design is a very good performer.

gold dots are nice.

The new HST and PDX1 bullets are ushering in a new era of performance for hollowpoints though.

I need to get a box of bonded HST's in 230gr for my XD to try out. Best part is you can usually find a box of 50 for about 30 bucks.

http://www.ammunitiondepot.com/federal- ... 16916.html

that's a hard price to beat for premium defense ammo. hell, it's not much more than a box of FMJ's for practice.

if you're a reloader, it's a bargain to shoot this stuff instead and keep some of that nice Federal brass.
