Im looking at a couple guns right now. I want a 40 or 45 but a 9mm is more practical for me right now. Im looking for a nice, not to expensive, compact or sub compact that i can keep on me will im riding. Any suggestions? Today i looked at the springfield xd sub compact, a p99, and a sub compact s&w. The sales man showed my some small kahr handgun and it had a smooth *** trigger. So i dont know what to get.

best bang for the buck out of what you listed is the XD.

best aftermarket/quality/accuracy

<--XD-45 owner. I love my gun, it's more accurate than I am at the moment...I need more range time.

fair enough.

from all the shops I've been at lately, the XD is moving fast.

Bass Pro didn't even have any display models when I was last in there.

the sub feels about like the service with one less finger on the grip.

if you put a service mag in there with the plastic spacer however it feels like a normal XD

the compact somes with one short mag and one full size with the spacer.

I might get one very soon, we'll see as I want something small, I might go smaller and get a pocket pistol.

jesus, really?

you have a Saiga Bo?

I'm been thinking about looking into one...they're still fairly cheap in comparison to the retarded **** going on with the AK's.

I just wonder how they do accuracy and reliability wise. I know you can get some pistol grip stocks and hi cap mags for them...

I have 3 Saigas. A 308 and 2 Saiga 12s. The 308 and one of the 12s have been converted already by me.

A converted Saiga is many times more the AK than a WASR 10 will ever pretend to be.

The problem is that you have to convert them which adds around 150+ dollars to the price of the gun minimum plus the labor (I do it myself). Its kinda scary drilling into a brand new gun.

I would NOT use one of those Saiga specific stocks that dont' move the trigger group. It just doesn't feel right.

Far better than my eyes are. I have crappy eyes and can't usually hit much but others who shoot my guns are impressed with the accuracy of them.

I saw a 7.62x39 Saiga (unconverted) for 350 today.

Now I'm contemplating possibly buying either the Saiga 7.62x39 or the MAK 90.

What are your thoughts on the Kahrs as far as reliability and accuracy goes? I have time set up at the local rent and shoot place but it costs money to rent each gun... I'm looking at the .40 and I love it so far (gun show fiddling). I tried every XD I could find and just couldn't get into them at all, too blocky in my hand and they look like a brick.

Try the CZ75 or the Beretta 96 in 40S&W.

I have heard mixed things about Khars.

the more I read bout Kahr arms, the more I'm inclined to say f*** them.

every review seems to have a FTF/FTE

for the price they ask, I'd rather get a Kel Tec.

the CZ is an excellent choice, especially for the price.

the Smith and Wesson M&P is another to look at as is the FN FNP.

before you buy though, think about the reason you're purchasing it. if it's for carry, check and see how readily available holsters and other accessories are.

I learned something tonight that is kind of interesting. Did you know that the XD 9 can use Beretta 92 mags?

I have a crap load of Beretta 9mm mags. Makes me want to go buy an XD9 now.

rofl...yeah, I think you have to do a mod to them though...

it's not a drop in thing.

the XD-9 is a fine pistol.

you'd have fun with one.

rofl at Smith.

I still like their wheelguns.

I wanna get an old prelock Model 19. I think I'll buy a Python first though...and send the f***in' 29 I have in for an action job.

A low-end mid power round like the AK round would be the last damned round I would choose when blasting away at a frigging dinosaur.

A ma-deuce more than likely.

my Kahr PM9 has worked flawlessly since the day it was bought new by my G/F. nothing even in the Kahr recommended "break in period" of 200 rounds. it has just plain worked every friggin time.

I looked at the Keltecs, and almost bought one. but they just felt cheap to me. so when the G/F wanted to buy her Glock 19, she sold me the Kahr and i haven't looked back.

Went shooting last weekend and took a pic after cleaning all of the toys...

This was my first time shooting the ps90, as well as my xd40 in 9mm(XD9 barrel/slide/mags swap over on 4-5" models)

The ps90 was amazing. Recoil was VERY minimal and barrel hop was almost non existant, even when firing multiple sequential shots. Accuracy was excellent for the fairly short distance we were shooting at, and we got the laser dialed in almost perfect.

The XD in 9mm 4" barrel(service model) was much more controllable for me than the XD in .40Cal 5" barrel(tactical model.) I was way more accurate on my follow up shots with the 9mm, which just means I need more practice with the .40

And as always, the M1A takes the cake for me. Best rifle I've ever owned

Na, not a member on XDtalk. I've browsed the site a bit, but never enough to justify joining.

That video was very impactful, especially for me. My sister was murdered a few years back, the day before Christmas. She saw it coming, the bullet traveled through her wrist and into her head as if she tried to stop it.

One thing I learned was that a 22lr CAN kill someone. Another was just how important my rights are, and why it is necessary to protect them. All too often, politics overwhelm the simple reason as to why we need the rights we have, and how multiple restrictions inhibit our ability to exercise our rights to their full extent.

The things we don't realize we take for granted.....
