She looks good! Let me know when you are ready to purchase. I'll make sure to send you an extra roller next time. :D

Do you all think the product would look horrible if we went with a logo print on the front side?

it would be a good marketing idea, for example if someone looked at the pics i posted and was interested in buying some there is no logo to identify who makes the product. i actually like the fact that there is no logo. the finished product looks clean and smooth imo. lol instead of wasting money on a logo drop the price a little more! :naughty:

We are actually a fan of the clean look as well but have been toying with the idea of adding a logo on it. I'll pass your price drop request up the chain but I have a feeling we are one of the cheapest on the market already. ;)

Here's a look at our latest product (yes, we like to have fun):

you guys are no doubt cheaper than anyone else already. maybe instead of adding a logo to the product itself you could ship some decals or stickers inside each package so we can rock them on our cars.

There should have been some decals included with your sample (check the instructions paper) and we do ship them with every order. :dblthumb:

review: GTMat 50mil 240sx/pt cruiser

first impression: good, thin and lightweight, what a free sample!!!

install: i installed the mat in the trunk (spare tire area) of my 240sx at first. i cleaned the area with lacquer thinner, then let it dry and started placing out the mat. it was easy to cut and work with. i do wish it was a bit stickier though.

test drive: at first i noticed that i didn't hear my car idle as loud. my exhaust is short in the back so it ends right under the gtmat pretty much. so thats a nice improvement there but when i drove (only down the road <45mph) the car I didn't notice too much of a change. bummer. but all i did was the trunk so im not expecting much.

all in all i like the stuff alot. its way cheaper than anyone else without going the ebay route and does its part. but i do think i wanna try the 80mil. i know the stinger trunk kit i used is thicker from the start.

so i put some on the side to use on my DD. I'm running a kenwood 500watt RMS 2 channel bridged to a polk audi sr 10'' subwoofer, polk audio db series 5x7 in the rear and sound ordnance 6.5'' in the front. i have stinger i the trunk and deicided to use GTMat in the front doors.

install: much easier than the trunk. i used the mat to cover up the space i had between the speaker and door since I'm using a 6.5'' speaker in a 6.75'' hole. btw the little wooden roller is sweet to have!

first impression: closing the door, this might sound silly but when i used the stinger in the trunk and then closed the trunk, it gave it a nice sounding thump noise which kinda to me gave it a better feel.
i was expecting that in the front doors after applying but did not get it. maybe i didn't use enough GTMat or maybe the 80mil will take car of it.

2nd: Defiantly improved the sound! the speaker is not touching any metal therefore theres no rattle from that its self. also using the GTMat to close up the opening i had made the sound more direct and not just lost.

overall: i think its a great product for the price. i really want to try the 80mil before i do my whole interior like i plan on doing. would i recommend? yes i would, but i would recommend trying it first to see which thickness you would want.
I will be making future purchases very soon! thanks!

Hello jsturges18! Thanks for the reviews and pictures, we do appreciate it. I did want to address the stickiness issue. I'm not sure what the temperature is up there, (I'm in TX so I'm assuming cold), but it could have an effect on how the adhesive behaved. We usually recommend using a heat gun or even a hair dryer to get the product to conform better and stick. Not sure if you used either of these.

As far as trying the 80 mil, let me know how much you need and I'll send PM you with a discount price. Let me know what else you need to be happy. :dblthumb:

Ahhhhhh I meant to ask that if a heat gun would help. It is getting chilly here about 50-55 degree days (probably low 50s when I installed it). I think ill go back and use a heat gun to see if I can smooth things out and get better adhesion.

Im thinking of finishing the 240 off with the 50mil but pretty soon the Pt Cruiser will be getting new component speakers and will defiantly order the 80mil for that! :)

I can offer you a discounted price on either, just let me know how much you are thinking of buying. The heat gun should definitely smooth things out!

yeah im not going into my interior with a f*** spray gun. that is very impractical and i highly doubt a glorified spray on bed liner is as effective as dampening sound as our friends at GT Sound are.

"After several coats we were satisfied that we covered the cab as best we could. After letting the material dry for an hour we removed all the tape and paper so that it would not be glued on when the material completely dried. Lizard Skin recommends that you let the material dry for at least 24 hours before putting everything back together."

:dblthumb: all you bro i think im gonna pass.

Just an FYI, I've applied over 300 square feet of GTmat on several of my restorations - It's easily one of my favorite products.

I've tried a TON of other products, and there's really not anything else that compares. We can pick and choose WHO advertises their products here, and I wouldn't accept advertising from a sub-standard sound deadening product.

Get the sample and try it out - Or, better yet, order enough to do your whole interior - It's well worth the purchase price.

Is the free sample thing still going on. I've never put sound deadening in a car, but the v8 is gonna need it.
Also how much does it normally take to do a full interior?

I'm going to try to make the 240 as up to current model car standards as possible interior-wise (as little road noise as possible & as many amenities that a newer model infiniti or nissan has as possible)

Nobody said hey u go buy it, I jus stated another option. And ill admit if u wanna roll that day then its prolly not for u but if its a restoration, then wats the problem? I didn't say it was the best sound damper out there, it blocks sound an outside weather. Plus in 10 to 15 yrs it'll b solid. An I'm not gonna dis this co. But often mats like these fall apart after yrs. Idk bout u but I plan on having my 240s prolly till I die so u don't gotta come like an a**. Strapping a turbo to a ka is impratical as is swapping rbs into 240s, or gsxr600 engines to a 4wheeler, it operates fine as is but peeps do wat they wanna do. U can go spend 500+ on some mats an ill b happy with my 150 dolla spray.
Keep strong pimp

Thanks for the kind words sir! Please keep us in the loop on future restorations, I'd love to see what kind of beauties we are used in. :)

The free sample is still available, give us a call today: 1-855-GTSOUND

As far as the liquid spray on deadener goes, we are actually testing our own product now and might even offer a few free samples in the near future. I'll definitely keep you guys in the know.

The reason I ask is because common sense would say that adding that many layers is, for one, unnecessary and two, just plain crazy. I'm dealing with some negative feedback but wanted to see what others would think and what was expected of the product.
