I know someone selling one for 500. It has about 2000 miles on it. No smoke or shaft play of course. It's never boosted past 6psi. Should I snatch it up for 500?

My parts guy just quoted me $715 for a brand new s15 bb turbo my cost.

So... Take from that what you will, if you know for sure its in near perfect condition, then offer him $450 and see what happens.

Get a 2871, 2876, or 3071. That gt28 (2860) is just too small. That is a really good deal though. if you don't plan on a whole bunch of power, it'll be great.

It's in great condition. The shop is acting as a third party in the deal and he's a good guy.

This will be my first venture into boost, so I think i'll be happy with the GT28r. Yeah, it's small, but should keep boost to 7500rpm, which is plenty for me (ATM). Along with some evo 550 injectors, wahlbro 255, FMIC, 3in, yaddayadda, you get the point. Getting used to 300+hp at the wheels is gonna be the tough part. I'm still getting used to 120hp bike that only weighs 400lbs. Whew that is wicked!I'll make him an offer that he can't refuse. LOL. Thanks all!

See, you THINK the gt28 is gonna be enough, but then you get it and wail on it at 20psi and go "gosh, this is neat and all, but why didn't I just pony up the extra cash and get the 2876?" Trust me man, this stuff happens. I had this conversation in person with a CA enthusiast just last week. We both have the gt28r.

But then I gotta pony up more cash for forged internals. This way atleast I get to push the motor close to it's limits before rebuilding with forged internals. I'm already getting a better start than most that stay with the T25. I'm gonna hopefully be happy with the T28 for the rest of the summer. I got some body work, suspension, and brake work to keep me busy this upcoming winter. More than 350hp on stock brakes and almost stock suspension is not a good idea anyways, hell more than stock power on stock brakes and almost stock suspension isn't a good idea. I hear what your saying tho. I just hope I don't have the need for more power anytime soon.

Why are you people trying to dicourage the guy. He is getting a great turbo at a good price. Not everybody wants to say "oh im building 500+ HP but my sh1t spools up at 5000 rpm. I always think that if u have a lot of horspower but it is not that streetable you are wasting your f**king time. We are all here because we are car enthusiats and if you come out with a decent setup with decent power we need to encourage each other no matter what because owning a ca18det we are all considered underdogs so give the guy helpful hints to best utalize the potential of this turbo on the MIGHTY(and i'm not being sarcastic) ca18det.

thats a kick *** turbo. i used to run one and i loved it more for a daily turbo than that monster td06-20g i upgraded to. the 20g made tons of power, but the gt28r was just more fun around town. about the only time I prefered the 20g was on highway pulls (it beat my e46 m3) and on the track when you're on boost.

Is this the -4 or -1? I have the -4 with incanel fins. Have yet to use it until new bearings go in but hands down a great responsive turbo. GT30 is too much lag for a street CA. You'll appreciate this turbo, get it now.
