I agree. Get this in writing if they're truthful about it, because no manufacturer honors warranties when you've modified a car using parts that aren't made by them and installed by their trained technicians.
The only leg you have to stand on is that a manufacturer (or it's representitives - the dealerships) are required by law to prove that the modification caused a malfunction before they can say it's not covered under warranty. This prevents them from saying your water pump broke because you changed your wheels, etc.
BTW - I have no idea where Romeoville is, but I work for Sony and I know that we have a huge camera distribution warehouse there. LOL.
