Sup, I got the motor in and all the wiring is done like it says, everything listed is connected. I flipped the key on and everything lights up on the dash like it should, turn the key to crank and the engine spins but doesn't spark. I checked the #1 coil and there's no spark. My question is where's the freakin' ignitor supposed to be, because it just occured to me that I didn't see anything like the pictures of the one's I've seen for sale anywhere in the month plus I've been working on the swap. I know this is probably the best place to start to figure out what's wrong with it. And don't get hostile, I searched both vauge and in depth references to ca18det ignitors. Anyways, as always, all and any help would be appreciated. Thanks for looking. Laters.

If you don't have an ignitor, your car will never start, ebay have some, few members here post some for sale every now and then. The ignitor should plug in your main engine harness beside your boost seloniod plug. You can't miss it, it is a square aluminum box with fins on it, the back side of it is black plastic that should be around your the passenger side on the US ca18det cars (since you flip the harness from the jdm side to the US side) and since your at it, double check to make sure you have the injector dropping resistor pack.

Good luck,RafiPULSAR GTR

I hate to do it, but I don't have AIM. What's an injector dropping resistor pack look like and where's it supposed to be? And thanks for the info, there's nothing like that on the harness. JHOT's getting a phone call!!!

couple things for you to do,

First the resistor pack is a rectangular aluminum case with big plug has 5 thick wires. It got the word "Jecs" engraved on it. It goes on the engine harness itself as well.

Second, I personally never dealt with Jhot, but few members here did and they have nothing but good services, few members had some minor parts missing, they called Jhot and the parts were replaced without any headaches, so when you call them, be cool about it, thats my 2 cent opinion.

If they don't have the resistor pack or the ignitor, I am sure some members here have some for sale, or you can hit the junk yards and look for a resistor pack of only 1987 Nissan pulsar with a ca16de engine. The resistor pack is located on the middle upper side fo the firewall of the pulsar, also the pulsar have an identical ignitor that you can use.

Good luck,RafiPULSAR GTR

pulsar CA16/18DE or Infiniti Q45 ignitor and I think the CA16DE used a dropping resistor like ours. I've also heard DSM dropping resistors work.
