Got a ticket for speeding

I was doing 60 on 45 (local) mph. Lucky for me he didn't see my tinted windows and V1 radar detector. Otherwise, I'm screwed. I think it's time to upgrade to the newer version or sell that f***ING V1 !!!!. My question is how much do you think the ticket would cost me ? Thanks

If this is your first ticket and can take traffic school then you are looking at 370ish for the ticket with traffic school and then you have to pay for traffic school which is about 25 bucks I think and you can take that online.

I got a speeding ticket on the hwy for going 80mph on a 65 zone back in Feb. and that was how much I had to pay.

And if anyone is curious an unsafe lane change ticket is $213....I got that a month ago and my court date is 10/7....it really suck because now i have a point on record and can't clear it since I already took traffic school.

Unsafe land change here in NY is around the same price. The guys at the traffic court turned my unsafe lane change into an illegal door opening.

hmm well that would depend... but 60 in a 45 isn't too bad... i would expect maybe around $200 but that's not including admin fees and traffic school. whereabouts in garbage grove were you caught?

It's Garden Grove I was on Magnolia and heading to 405 S. It's not my first time got ticket either. First one was turned on red, 2nd was speeding ticket on freeway doing about 80 in 65, then I got into a big accident and sold my old car. Now I got another speeding ticket lol. I went to a traffic school 3 years ago to erase 1. Now it's time to do another.

If your last traffic school was 3 years ago then you should just be able to do that.I've had 3 speeding tickets and only did traffic school once

3 speeding tickets ? They should have your license suspended already man. My friend told me I can go to traffic school once every 18 months. I'll have to check at the dmv when I'm free. To Ranga14, V 1 is a radar detector which will let you where speed traps are. The bad thing about is I believe in it so much that I got my 2nd speeding ticket.

join the club! I recently got a ticket. 62 on a 45. I took my risks, went to court, and got PBJ and no points, $70 court fee. The ticket was originally $90. I dont know how it goes in CA, but typically, first thing lawyers over here do is to subpoena documents for the cop's radar gun. They have to get it checked and calibrated every so often and you don't have to be a lawyer to request one. If they cant produce it you could probabaly go to court and win with it..might need a lawyer to argue your case though.

legitly u gotta just mail it in saying NOT GUILTY and fight it bc thats the way u get it lowered never say guilty if its ur first ticket they lower it to something thats no points.....like a parking ticket or something

Oh trust me don't even bother lol. CA law is so much stricter on these dam tickets and much more expensive. When I got my first speeding ticket I couldn't even get them to lower it lol. I lost and had to pay full amount.

My friend when he got his he tried to fight it also through letter of declaration and lost that and still had to pay full amount haha.

You will have to wait for the letter they send you in 3-4 weeks or longer and it will tell you if you can go to traffic school or not. You might be able to check the bail amount for a speeding ticket on the website also, but you will have to do some calculation on the extra charges and fee.

CA does suck when it comes to tickets and don't even think the cop wont show up to court if you decide to fight it because they now get paid for showing up so its a win win situation for them.

I am going to court for my unsafe lane change and I am going to fight it. I mean I can pay the 213 but I do not want any points on record.

i love my attorney, he loves me. he even invited me to a Christmas party last year....

i've been stopped for speeding etc... at least 6 times in the past 2 years and i, to this day, have no points on my license one was a 74 in a 55, a 68 in a 45, and so on lol- there was on tht i didnt do much w/ as a 61 in a 45 but honestly- i went to court, dressed nice but not too nice, (yes theres a diff. either ur rich, or u know how to look) i dnt have a radar detector btw too- but i like to go fast sumtimes- i've been starting to slow down now but w/e-

regardless- go to court- dress nice- no tie tho- talk to the DA, he'll be like- this is what we'll do for u, and u'll be like- ok... if theres any points involved w/ a lesser fee- be like- what if i go to driving school and get those reduced so we dont have problems w/ my ins. he may be sympathetic, he may not. regardless- u can apply for driving school on ur own, but its more $ and ur driving record still says tht uve had a speeding ticket. so to kill 2 birds w/ one stone- u need to get the court to approve it. yes its an extra 25 due on the night of the class. its not that bad tho- its mad easy.

wish me luck too- cus i have a 70 in a 55 this monday at 10:30 lol.... which is gay cus i passed a speed limit sign tht said 65 and the cop is like- ba durppp! :/ good luck tho dude

Call the court clerk to make an appointment to speak to the prosecutor.

Dress and speak nicely.

Ask to have the charge reduced to something like blocking traffic that carries no points.

damn...i have gotten two speeding tickets and an illegal turn on red and just said f*** it and paid them before my court date and i still have a clean record...but thats in arkansas so idk how the hell ur state works..but that does suck...i could have put alot of stuff on my car for what i have spent in damn tickets!!!
