We had our share of Chevelle SS396, Superbees, and Mach 1s, but the topper was the rich kid who had a yellow Shelby Mustang followed by a yellow Pantera.SVTCOBRA wrote:Cool! Hey, a boomer started it, it's not like we're 'jacking it (like we usually do).370Z/28 wrote:Y'all better watch it or we will get accused of having an old people thread again.![]()
A friend had one of the SS 455 Chevelles, balanced and blueprinted. This was electric blue with the wide twin stripes on either side of the scoop. His favorite trick was, he laid a twenty on the dash, and you laid one beside it. When he popped the clutch, any twenties you could catch before they landed on something were yours. Otherwise they were his. They usually ended up in the back seat. Very few people could raise a hand against the g force.370Z/28 wrote:My friend's brother had one of those '70 Trans Ams with the 455. White with the big blue stipe down the center. Lord I loved that car. She had a bunch of us in it one day. I was sitting on the console yelling for her to hit the gas so the little trap door on the back of the hood scoop would pop open. No telling how fast we were going and nobody even dreamed of wearing a seatbelt. It is amazing I'm alive. I have a lot of those kinds of stories.
We had a bad storm and a tree fell across that car.
