Leaving work today, I saw what I think was a '70 LeMans, in red and black. I had my window down from badging out of the garage, and from the rumble I'd say it was probably the 400 cube 4-barrel. It looked stock, in showroom condition.

Cool! Back in my High School daze, had a friend with a Lemans that was slowly turning it into a GTO. Also, had a friend with a white blue stripe 455SD TA that was a wee bit quick!!!....wish I had taken pics of my HS parking lot.....3 Mach 1's, 1 BOSS 302, 455SD TA, several late 60's Camaros, white Challenger, Chargers, ...lots of HP...... American muscle!!!!

Y'all better watch it or we will get accused of having an old people thread again. :chuckle:

Some guy that works down the street from me here has a yellow '67 Camaro conv't that he drives every day like a daily driver!!! In the auto theft capitol of the world IN THE 'HOOD!!!! :ohno:

Everybody up here with a nice car likes to park next to me. They know I won't hurt their car. I will also come tell them if they have a tire low, or a nail in a tire, or a new scratch etc. :)

Oh, and another cool car story. Passed by a white NISMO this morning. (insert drool smiley here). He was driving it like an old lady till this old lady passed him and then he speeded up some. I mean really....65 in a 65 in the morning?? Unheard of. :naughty:

We had our share of Chevelle SS396, Superbees, and Mach 1s, but the topper was the rich kid who had a yellow Shelby Mustang followed by a yellow Pantera.

My friend's brother had one of those '70 Trans Ams with the 455. White with the big blue stipe down the center. Lord I loved that car. She had a bunch of us in it one day. I was sitting on the console yelling for her to hit the gas so the little trap door on the back of the hood scoop would pop open. No telling how fast we were going and nobody even dreamed of wearing a seatbelt. It is amazing I'm alive. I have a lot of those kinds of stories.

We had a bad storm and a tree fell across that car. :tisk:

Hey, a boomer started it, it's not like we're 'jacking it (like we usually do).

A friend had one of the SS 455 Chevelles, balanced and blueprinted. This was electric blue with the wide twin stripes on either side of the scoop. His favorite trick was, he laid a twenty on the dash, and you laid one beside it. When he popped the clutch, any twenties you could catch before they landed on something were yours. Otherwise they were his. They usually ended up in the back seat. Very few people could raise a hand against the g force.

But he taught me we weren't indestructible when he died in that car. Where he hit the tree was about 8 feet off the ground.

OMG....eek. :frown:

I lost a pair of sunglasses in my Camaro when I first got it. They were on the console in a little bin and I punched it and they flew in the back seat. I never have found them. They were cheap so I never took the seats out and really dug around for them.

My friend's sister's boyfriend had one of those snot green Super Bees with a 440. One day we were driving down a road that was so narrow, if two cars met up at the same time you would kinda have to scoot off the side. I was in the back seat and I pulled myself up against his seat so I could see the gauges. I yelled faster and he would punch it and I would go flying back into my seat. I would grab his seat and pull myself up again and he would shift and throw me back again. I always wanted to go faster. Always loved cars and speed. :shifter:
