Hello everyone!

My girlfriend's 1996 Infiniti I30t is having some serious problems. She just got the car 2 months ago, with about 76,000 miles. She did an oil change. Out of nowhere, the car developed this problem:

when the car was cold, and she turned it on, it vibrates slightly. After warming it up for about 5-10 minutes, she put it in reverse, and the car dropped RPMs and shut off! She tried again, and the same thing happened. After pushing the car in reverse, and putting it in drive, the car, hesitantly, moved while shaking. When slowing down, the car shakes more, and she had to keep putting it in neutral to keep it from stalhing out. When the car shut off, dummy lights went on, Brake and Engine. What is going on? Battery, transmission...?

I would really appreciate some suggestions. Thanks!!

Sounds like a bad MAF sensor connection. Jiggle the connector on top of the airbox.

Have the vehicle checked at the dealer with Consult and monitor the engine in the real-time mode. The 96 I-30 did have a concern regarding the wiring harness having a break in the wiring at the point where the engine harness goes around the passengers side strut tower to the engine. Depending on what wire is the issue will determine what type of drivability problem you will have. I havent seen or heard of the 96 I-30 ever having the air flow sensor connector concern as happened with some of the Q's. The dealer will also go into work support and monitor the AAC valve at the fixed position, with cold weather coming on we notice alot more of these type concerns.
