Damn the luck!!!! I was bidding on a CA18DET VLSD on eGhey. I was the highest bidder, and I was watching it. Somebody tried to bid snipe me at about 1 min. so I went to over bid him and eGhey crapped out on me and logged me out for some reason. So I had to place my bid and then log it, and then go to the confirmation screen. By the time I told it to go ahead and bid, I had lost it. I've been trying to get one of those damn things for A YEAR!GGGRRRRRR!!!!

I just needed to vent....

oh I can't wait, I have a S15 HLSD and stock CA 4.363 gears coming my way, alongwith the NISMO 12-13mm adapter bolts to make it work (S15 has 13mm bolts, the older R200's have 12mm holes in the final gears.. it would work w/ the 13's but it might not center correct = bad)

*gloat*

That's exactly what I'm planning. Where the heck did you get your hands on that stuff. I've been looking for a while now.

a friend of a friend of a.. and luck. I scored the S15 HLSD itself for stupid cheap considering sicne someone swapped it into a A31 stock pumpkin (same as S13) adn the auction description only said "S15 turbo" not LSD or HLSD or anything, and it wasn't even in the auction name.. there wre some other bidders but it didn't go up like S15's normally do.. a little over $400 shipped to me with the whole pumpkin, output and driveshafts (most of thats shipping, heavy bastard).. the 4.363 gears costing me almost $200 more and thats getting "cheap" as well.. still, when s15 hlsd's w/o the shafts go for 800$+ on ebay before shipping, it's a steal

be happy vlsd kinda sucks.

id save for a clutch type of s15 hlsd if you can justify spending that money.

I don't really like clutch lsd's for street use to be honest. 2 way's are for drifters and draggers.

I'd take a torsen over a clutch in almost any cenario. Their only drawback is that if you are in a situation where you have NO traction (ice) then the torsen won't work. The clutch and VLSD will.

arent the S15 a R200 and the CA18 a R180?? my JDM silvia came OE with a CA18 and it has a R180... (well had i swapped in a A31 cifero R200)

meaning the ring gear from the R180 will not fit on a R200 as the 180 and 200 denotes the diameter of the ring gear in mm..

I don't think that any of the VLSD's were the R180. All of the USDM S13 diffs are R200's.

i saw that lsd for sale, its probably better u didn't get it. I think it was a 3.9, and the stock ca is 4.3

unless thats wat u wanted, it wouldve put u farther away from stock then watcha got now.
