ive got the last few parts that i need to install on their way, so once the engine is all wired up and hoses are all clamped on... whats the order of operations?

it would seem like i should let the fuel pump build pressure in the system, then unplug the sparkplug harness and crank the engine for a bit to send oil thru everything (and the turbo), and check for leaks then plug the sparkplugs back in and try to start it

is that about it, or am i missing steps?

you don't want to spray fuel uin when you're not burning it, unplug the coils if you want but def disconnect the fuel pump fuse when cranking it for oil pressure..

If you want to be real paranoid, hand crank it first (belts off not that hard with a big socket + socketwrench)

so that would be about it then, hand cranking .. 10-20 times ..or using the starter with the fuel pump and coilpack harness disconnected should get everything primed up and ready for fuel and spark .. no other steps? (this is the first time ive installed, rebuilt, and/or swapped an engine)

edit> btw, you have CA ratio diff gears for sale?

since its a rebuild, once you've got it running you'll need to break it in.

some say to go for a hard drive, but you'd have to let the oil warm up first, and I've had some people tell me that what ever breaking in is going to occur is going to occur in the first 20 minutes of its life.

I just held a fast idle at 2000 RPM for 20 minIt's a real PITA to do that cause 20 min is a long time, but my car is running fine so far

Others will recommnd the hard drive, and will also have had success with that. So really.. it's hard to say if one is really better than the other.
