as the title states my first tune up on the car (not the cars first tune up...i hope) its a 2000 maxibeast se man. but i need some suggestions...Actual mileage is unknown because the motor has been replaced...I was planning on buying castrol synthetic but i saw that auto zone has a oil change sale on royal purple and a k and n oil filter fo like 42.00 dollars or would synthetic be a lil over board? also spark plugs i was thinking about the bosch plus series would these serve an advantage over oem? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :mike

I personally use synthetic (Mobil1) in my Maxima, so no it's not over board.

Do not use Bosch plugs, stick with the NGK platinums that are the OEM plugs.

How many miles? If it's high, I wouldn't necessarily go synthetic. Especially if you don't plan on continuing to use it.
Agree with Maxhopper on the plugs.
I personally use Castrol Syntec.

Pennzoil is always a good brand as it has been used in racing for years. If over 200,000 miles, you might want to try pennzoil extended mileage. If you attempt to go synthetic run 50% convential, and 50% synthetic, then make the next oil change full synthetic.

OEM Nissan parts are the best you can get for your car. Many members of the forums use OEM parts in a lot of cases such as engine repair.

Steady as she goes!

Bosch O2 sensors are very good but never use Bosch spark plugs in Nissan/Infiniti cars.

Amsoil, Royal Purple, German Castrol and Mobil 0w-40 are true synthetics. Others are just synthetic blend. It's really hard to believe that in some cases, a Mobil 10W-30 Extended Mileage (synthetic blend though sold as synthetic) is more expensive than Mobil 0W-40 (true synthetic). Go and check it out in stores like Autozone.

OK, since you threw it out there. Completly off topic, but.. where can I find a decent pair of pillar tweeters for my crappy stock system?
