Greetings all!!!!!!!

Just saying hi to all of you!!!!!!!

And now the question........
Im getting a G37 coupe, thats already decided.........

However im Torn between a 6speed manual and the 7speed paddle auto.

I have driven a manual G35 coupe and a Auto G35 coupe and i really preferred the Manual.....

However i really like the whole paddle shift idea with the 7 speed having more gears, and correct me if im wrong the 7 speed is more aggressive with the ratios, so it would be quicker?????

How quickly does it shift? Is it more like a GTR which shifts almost as soon as you pull the lever, or is it more like a slush-box that u have time to drink a gulp of soda before it shifts.

Either way by March 01 i will be the owner of a coupe!!!!!

And again Hi to all of you!!!

Welcome to NICO! I'd go with the auto. I had a g35 6mt coupe and now I have an auto...I'm not a fan of the Gs clutch. My transmission had to be replaced and I decided to install a lightweight flywheel and stage 3 clutch. (I was planning on installing a supercharger) . Unfortunately, the transmission had a chatter problem.

I went to an auto G37 sedan and love it! I do miss the look of the coupe...

the 7sp auto paddle shifters do not shift like a GTR or IS-F... but they are not slow either. In manual mode the car is about 90% under your control, i say 90 because you can sit at red line in a gear and it wont up shift, but down shifts are checked by the TCU. This is a good thing and a bad thing, more good though... the TCU wont allow you to down shift too low if your RMPs are too high which is good. But the slight baby sitting of the TCU does make down shifts slow compared to up shifts. Overall i think the 7speed auto is great and i dont miss a 6 speed.

If you are undecided about manual versus automatic transmission, there are two downsides to the G37's 6 speed manual. The first is that the clutch is rather tricky. The window between completely free and completely engaged is quite narrow. It took me quite a while to learn the clutch and, before I did, I stalled my G37S more than any other car I have owned. The second downside is that you can't get the all wheel drive X model with a manual transmission. Having driven both models, I recommend the X for anyone who likes, or can at least tolerate, an automatic.
