hey, im getting a 2009 altima coupe for my birthday in October, but my parents want to keep it around 20k so theyre getting me the 2.5S with the premium package. I want to up the horsepower and add the stillen front lip and sideflaps with a new grill, but I was wondering what I should aim for first and what i'd be able to install with a mechanic or what I could do myself. It's my first car but I want it to be a nice ride. thanks for the help!

best thing to do is wait and get the 2010... it should be out in a month... but then again, if you're looking at price, you can probably get a good deal on a 09 since the 2010 will be coming out with the redesigned front.... the 2.5S is pretty torquey for a 4 cylinder but theres not really much that you can do to it that i know of... you can do intake, exhaust, light weight pulley, bully dog tunner for the ECU and thats it. some people say they gain from the intake and some people argue they lose power from the intake sucking in warm air. exhaust will give you a gain but idk how much, probably like 10 HP. the bully dog tuner will give you some power and allow you to take off the limiter at 115 MPH... BUT beware that the factory tires on the 2.5S are only good for 115 MPH....

You can go into the Nissan website and build an AC with options and everything. That will give you a pretty good picture of what it will be running your parents. You can print that quote up from the net and go to the dealer and tell them what you want. If they give you a higher price pull out the papers and show them. Then try to negotiate the price down from there. Best advice from me would be to go to the dealer knowing what you want. Go in there like " I'm looking for a 2010 Altima Coupe 2.5 S w/ Premium Package, this color and so on. " they will know that you did your homework on the car and your not some random sucker they can RIPOFF. I was told this by a great friend of mine who is a Sales Manager at the Nissan dealer where I bought my car. If the price is to high then ask for the 2009 models and try hard as hell to negotiate them lower since the 2010 are coming out . Good Luck on the purchase bro.

stillen just came out with headers also.

if your going for appearance, definitely get rims and either drop it or put coilovers on it. also some people like to put the leds on their car so you can go to http://www.oznium.com for some of those.

im sure there will be others chiming in with more info, so hope this little bit helped.

i'd say go for the 2010 models, get the new look, be different and start a trend lol
