This story all started a few weeks ago...

I raced a lot of people that night. Some for money, and some for fun. (I ended up out 5 dollars, so I didn't do too bad, pretty much broke even.) This particular race was a "just for fun" race though.

As I'm rolling down O street in my riced out 240sx, I look ahead and see a sweet Firebird, and wait...NO YOU DIDN'T!! A Fiero with a Ferrari body kit. I knew it wasn't a Ferrari, because you could hear the 4 bangin fart sound.

The Firebird revs his engine first, and the Fiero counters. TNext thing you know, the light turns yellow just in time, of course. I knew I had to witness this race. On this particular part of O street there is a 3rd lane that extends out to a 1/4 mile. So I pulled over into that lane to get a better view of the race.

Everyone revs their engines, skids their tires, and takes off. We all are even at first. I was surprised how my 240 kept up with even the Firebird. The Fiero sounded like a cat with a hairball though, but surprisingly kept up as well. The lane was ending, so I knew I had to get an edge fast, but I just couldn't pull ahead. I look over to see if the 2nd lane is open for me to pull into. We all start slowing down, and I start to pull over in the 2nd lane, but realize that it's all of a sudden blocked...? OH MY FUK JIZZ, FUK MI. It's the dude with the ****ty Acura Legend who tried to keep up with us. He wouldn't let me over!!!

I got halfway over though, but the other half hit the curb where the lane ended. Uhhh.

Nothing seemed too bad at first, so I pretty much ignored it. I noticed a dent in my wheel that wasn't there before, the right side doesn't feel as stiff, and my alignment is off a little, but I don't worry about it, because I don't have money.

Well, I take my car into T.O. Haas to get the alignment fixed today, and here's what they say:

I need a new rack/pinion assembly...where'd that one come from?($406)

2 new front tires..$120

used right front wheel...$65

2 Tension rods w/new bushings, $53 eacha bunch of other little stuff too...

Anyways, he first of all noted how my power steering belt and pulley were disconnected. I unhooked them b/c I prefer power steering, call me crazy. He said that was bad on the rack and that you shouldn't just unhook it. So apparently I need a new rack:rolleyes ...I won't believe that one. Is it really bad??

My next question is about the about the tension rods. PDM has the new tension rods for 70 bucks with the bushings pressed in already. The stock ones are apparently 50 bucks. I don't want stock ones!!! My mom doesn't understand that I don't want the OE bushings, so how should I convince her? What points could I maybe make that prove the whiteline bushings will be better than the OE's.

sorry for typing so much....adios.

Sounds like the Acura Legend was keeping up ok if you couldn't get over b/c of him. :P

Don't race unless you can afford to pay to have your car fixed ..Now j00r poor mother has to pay for something that wouldn't have happened if you had played it smart and tuned your NOS timer so you could run 9's!! <-slight sarcasm

Just tell her "my 240 is too good for stock parts"
