My Opologies for the many threads,i will try to keep my Q, here.So the first Q.AfterMarket Flywheel? good bad?Free-flow cat?anydifference in the flow?Ignition coil?good bad?"Distrubutor" cap rotor?any difference?Stage 2 clutch....reason is rocking out of mud and sand.the problem is the clutch right now(OEM not a lot of it left) slips after a couple of tries...Stage 2 Clutch Kit. good bad for the transmission?285/60/15 tires in the back.....good bad?The reason i am asking this quistions is i love this truck a lot makes me happy....so i wanted to upgrade a couple of parts on it.The coin for most upgrades is not the problem, but is it worth it? Thank. Max.

I had a 1987 z24i just like you got, aside from the idle adjustment screw being oxidized and rendered "unadjustable", it ran good. So many bolts were oxidized on the front of the motor that I was afraid to remove any of them. The alternator tension bolt broke off when I tried to adjust it, but enough of that. On to your Q's, the stock flywheel is heavy, I don't know how much exactly, but I'm guessing 25 lbs. A lighter one would rev faster, but wouldn't have as much "lurch". I had stock coils, so I don't know about aftermarket ones. My distributor was stock as well. I had a ZOOM stage ONE clutch that worked great and didn't overheat like the stock one did, I could thrash that thing, a stage two might be overkill, but is there really such a thing as overkill, thats up to you. Wider tires in the back sounds good, as long as they're not too wide for the rims you are using. It would be cool if you could optimize the ecu for premium gas, but I don't know if theres any software for that old of a computer right off the bat. Sorry for the long post.

Ohh i am still deciding on the flywheel, checked the net it is 25lb,the after market one is 10.....not expensive either around 200 Can with shipping ,i dont know about the stage 2 clutch but stage 3 killed his transmission in the Nx. Man that clutch was rough.By the way they do make the computers for the z24 its around 300.I dont want anything crazy on this truck its not worth it but making it a little bit more meaner wouldnt hurt....Thx for reply.
