Hey guys, whats going on..

I just have some simple questions on the performance aspects of the Z. Now im talking BONE STOCK here...!! No intake, no exhaust, nothing..!! Basically driving it off the lot and talking it down to the local drag strip..

What do they put down to the rear wheels..??What is the average 1/4 time that these cars run..??Is there a turbo kit or supercharger kit out there made for this motor yet..?? And what is the price..??And if so, how much more power to the wheels will this kit put down to the ground over stock..??

The reason why im asking is cause I just wrecked my 98 240sx and the insurance company totalled out the car. My 240 was putting down 251 rwhp. I have removed all the parts from the car and they are all sitting in my garage. Im just not sure if i wana build up another 240sx... I was thinking about the 350Z but i havent made my mind yet...

ThanksRobert

I ran my Bone Stock 350z 6-speed at our local 1/8 mile track and ran a 9.056. 1/4 mile times are in the low 14's high 13's.RWHP is about 250.

There are several supercharger kits out there. Greddy makes a TT kit. Both will set you back some place in the $5K+ area.

The 350z drives and handles great. It's a really fun car to own.I love mine more every time I drive it.I can't say enough good things about the car.

Ok so u say about 250 rwhp...

Explain how that is achieved if its only rated at 287 crank hp... )On the average RWD car, there is about a 20% drivetrain loss from the crank to the wheels... So that should put it to about ~230 rwhp... give a take a few..

Correct me if im wrong, but my 240sx is rated at 155 crank hp and it dynoed 126 rwhp... BONE STOCK..

ThanksRobert

To the wheels i've seen numbers from 220 up to 260, most in the lower end.Average high 13's I thinkThere's a greddy tt setup and a stillen sc kit. The later putting about 305 to the wheels. Price range is from 3500-6000 I think.

That would be true in your average car, but the 350z has a very light flywheel and a carbon fiber drive shaft which means around 15% i think.

lets put that 20% loss onto my car. a stock 300zx n/a dynoed at 190whp. cranks horsepower is 222. 20% of 222 is 177, so like chingo said, it only works on your average car.

The stock dyno sheets that I have seen on the 350z have been between 225~260. Break in has been the differance as well as temp during the dyno.Making about 15%-20% loss.

I got 254 rwhp with nismo exhaust, and grounding kit. I did a dyno before my exhaust and I got 244 with just the grounding kit.

I bet your Z sounds great! Do you have an intake yet? I ordered my JWT pop-charger today. Got a great deal from one of our sponcers.

The grounding kit will be my next mod. I have herd tht you can really tell the diferance with them on there.

Those numbers are pretty good, but not for the price of that car..

~$22k for a 350Z and only get ~240 rwhp.... I got 341 rwhp out of my 98 240sx with only $5k in mods...

One...it's a NEW car, they cost more and as soon as you drive it off the lot, the value decreases immensly. Two, didn't you say up there that you were putting down 251rwhp? now you just said 341rwhp?

So um, sorry to jack this, but i asked somewhere else and you never replied...Anyways, did you run 14 psi daily ever? If so, how did it hold up? Those are some awesome numbers, i'm looking to do a turbo KA myself. Thanks buddy!
