I have a issue with my cluster. the speedo works but the rpm gauge does not. Can anyone tell what could be the cause or at least put me in the right direction?

Check out the service manual: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/

I would say check each speed sensor and the power going to the Tachometer.

when the engine swaps are done sometimes when u have a coil pack pre opp but a dizzy/coil post op u have to butcher your wires, by taking a three pin and a four pin, and make six pin out of those, well your left with one extra that wire is the tach signal
at least thats what was up when i did my ka24de swap

good luck

ya so look around your dizzy for a green wire with a black stripe,
if you have that wire run into down into your passenger area and patch it into a yellow wire with a red stripe
and that should make your tach work
