Over the last several months my gas pedal has been sticking periodically. I finally had a mechanic look at it and they said they lubed it up and it hadn't stuck since. Then we got a cold snap here in Portland, OR and on a cold morning I took off and right away it stuck, this time really bad. Of course I had to push the clutch in in order to slow down and it revved the engine to 7000 rpm. Anyone else have this problem? Is there an easy way to grease it up? I wonder if the mechanic used something that froze in the cold snap?

thanks,
Justin

Sounds to me like its something in the linkage on the carb then. Try some WD40 or something and see if it helps.... play around with the linkage and make sure it moves freely.

My old 81 had this problem from time to time. I found the fast idle cam would get stuck in the high idle position. I never did get around to actually fixing it.
