Haha, so the other day I switched cars with my dad for a bit (he took my CA18 s13 and I took his 97 s14) because I'm trying to sell the s14 for them. Anyways, in an attempt at a nice gesture my dad filled up my tank before giving it back (because I gave it to him with an almost empty tank).

He FORGOT I need to run premium 93 gas in there and just put the 87 octane horsepiss stuff. He did this just minutes before dropping it off in my driveway, so he didn't notice any driveablility problems, and I haven't driven the car since. How do I get this crap out of the tank, as I have almost an entire tank full of 87 now?

Any advice, how do I siphon gas? lol, I've never done that before!

Thanks,Sean

Your best bet is to drive it with minimum boost, untill the tank is empty or half then fill up with 93-94 octane, or get yourself a hose, stick it in the gas tank but becarefull when you suck it out you don't sallow lol, your best bet if you have an air compressor, stick the hose in the tank and get the air nosel from the air tank to pressurize the gas tank, this way gas will be forced out through the hose with out you trying to suck on the hose.

But my suggestion is to drive it under low boost until you have a half a tank or less then refill

I've got the same problem having a full tank of year old gas in my car that hasnt been running. What my mechanic told me is to just unhook the fuel in line to the motor, run it into a bucket and turn the car on so it primes. He said hotwire the fuel pump so it doesnt shut off after 3 seconds. Or, you could buy A LOT of octane booster.

If its not totally full, throw in a couple gallons of C16 That ought to straighten it out.

Disconnect the fuel feed line to the rail and have it run into a bucket and turn the car to "ON"?

take out the pump, buy a 5$ siphon pump and pump it out, then use it in your beater if you have one!

SeVa's Idea is the best I have heard.

It wont take that long to evacuate 17 gallons or so. ONly question is, which friends tank are you going to put it in?

if you go to home-depot they have hoses with this kind of pump attached to it where if you squeeze it it comes out through the other end

This was how I drained mine at the tank was half full. It's much faster than any siphoning you will be able to do. Plus you can start and stop it much easier.

I think I'm going to try siphoning it into the S14... stock auto KA doesn't need any fancy gas to run fine One of my friends here in town said to use a garden hose, and said to kink it a bunch of times before putting the end into the tank. Then when you unkink it, it will provide suction and start the gas flow. And just put the other end of the hose in the s14's tank and I can flow from one tank to the other! Unfortunatly the s14 has a full tank, so I'll have to drive it around this week until it can take a full tank.

That actually won't work..When they talk about it raising your octane "2 points!" it means 2 1/10ths

so you'd have 87.2 octaneYou'd be better off to buy 3 gallons of toluene (which is basically 114 octane "fuel") it'll cost you about as much as 1 of those silly octane boosters..3 gallons should put you up to around 92~93 octane..

Just don't get it on ANYTHING..

and where do I find this toulene? I'm pretty sure I'll just siphon it off into my s14 or s12 when they run out of gas.

I've had it worse; I loaned my car to a friend once and one day he accidentally filled his diesel work Van with petrol. He had to pay for the fuel and get the Van towed home. He siphoned it out of the Van but he didn't have a gas can big enough to store it so he transferred it into my car as a favour, a nice healthy mix of low octane petrol and diesel. When he told me I went crazy of course and the gas ended up in yet another car. I was just beginning to upgrade the motor but it never seemed the same after this so I sold it.

Tolulene or Xylene can be found at places like Home Depot or Lowe's, in the paint section.. since they are nominally paint thinners

Sean, just drive the dang thing nicely like pulsar suggests and you'll be fine. I have accidentally done this as well while running 15psi on the T3/T04E and when I realized what I had done, I just retarded my total timing 5 degree after 4000rpm and grove the way I normally drive under boost. If you're worried, set your timing to 10 degree BTDC and just keep going!

yeah I drove it real easy this morning and noticed no ill effects... I'll just refrain from boosting until I can empty the tank.

Dee's solution is probabally the easiest. Just set the timing back 5 deg. If you're really worried about it, get some Toluene from a paint store. I'm running it and gas in my car right now with no ill effects.
