I know... Did everyone sell their 240's or just lose interest? Maybe it is because everyone is too broke to work on anything, like me.

Who's white s13 was I behind on 39th yesterday heading to the 13th street walmart parking lot? I only got to see it from behind.

I think its because no one is doing anything to their cars anymore. I got my car running and brought it up to Gainesville again, and hopefull will be installing solid subframe bushings very soon. I might even go out to the meet on thursday, everyone else should come out too.

I feel like I'm the only one who ever posts here anymore but screw it. I need help with this KA, I'm kind of at a loss as to what is wrong here. I'm starting to think it has to be a vacuum thing but I don't know.

I kind of feel like it is becoming personal. If I don't get this thing running right it will drive me crazy, maybe that is when your supposed to just walk away from it and be done.

lol

yeah it was throwing P0325 Knock Sensor P1145 Purge Volume Control Valve. It started with a bucking at around 2700-3000 rpm. Like fuel starvation, comes for a second or two missing and will not accelerate. Sometimes it happens when I accelerate from a stop. Now it's idling like crap.

I changed the knock sensor and did a tune up but it didn't help the problem.

Have you tried checking out the distributor? My car was having some issues one time and I got it checked out and the mechanic didn't find anything, but it turned out to be the distributor. I replaced it and had no more issues. If I remember right, it was idling funny and when I gave it gas in certain rpms it would buck n stuff unless I just floored it. I mostly just floored it, haha.

No I thought about it but don't know how to check it and didn't want to buy more parts without knowing. Would I get a code if it was the distributor?

Traffic has been horrible as of late. I can't stand driving around here anymore.

How the hell do you make a FWD ca18 into a RWD ca18? I found a guy who has one for sale but he said he changed it from FWD to RWD... I don't want it but I am having a hard time wrapping my mind around the tranny issue. Do you just change to a rwd tranny and put it back in? It's just such a strange idea to me.

Hope everyone is doing well.

not that anyone is ever here, but I have a boost question.

Boost would only go to about 5 pounds in every gear. I replaced some clamps because I was obviously having a boost leak. I get to about 9.5 pounds now in 3rd+ gear but in 1st and 2nd it feels like something is slipping. I'll get it to 5 lbs, but the motor will rev and lose boost and doesn't feel like its pulling the car. It was wet out at the time so I thought the tires were just slipping, but after a dry run the results are the same.

Last time I was under the car, I noticed the axle boots were torn and grease was all over the subframe. Could this be a diff/axle problem? Is my clutch finally going out? Could it be some freak of nature boost leak? Should the motor still boost even if it's not under load?

In normal conditions it drives fine with good clutch engagement. i dont get it.

I replaced some more coupler clamps, and finally put in my walbro. Car runs way better. I think my boost gauge needs replacing though, bc it shows boost to about 8.75 psi, vacuum at about 20.5 in hg and when the car is off, vacuum at about 2 in hg. Shouldn't the gauge zero out when the car is off?

Yeah It is still alive!

The slipping I was concerned with was from one of my tires slipping. Gotta switch to a better compound.

I recently developed a slight misfire at idle and a nasty one under boost. I pulled the plugs again to recheck the gap, and I noticed some knarly cracks on the porcelain/insulator parts on 3/6 plugs. Nice. Ordered new ones; will change them out tomorrow morning. Maybe even a dyno this weekend.

Hello, welcome & nice to meet you!

Some people around here used to meet in a parking lot but I don't know if they still do. I went a few times but didn't know anyone + it was boring.

I'm up for something if anyone has anything interesting to do.

Does anyone have a ka24de MAFS that I can borrow for a couple of days? I think mine is screwy and want to confirm it before I spend the money on one.

Hey guys can't get an answer anywhere else. Are there chapter leaders for Nicoclub in each state? I know Acurazine has one for areas of the state like SE,NE, etc
