I have just bought a used 2009 G37 S coupe with 23,000 miles on it, everything on it is stock and I'm not new to cars I used to have a 1996 G20 and 2009 Maxima which I still have.

But I am trying to figure out where to start with the upgrades and what are the best parts available besides the research I have done already. A couple of more opinions would really help me find what I am looking for and where to start.

Welcome to NICO

If you haven't fully funded an IRA and maxed out a 401k plan where you work I would start there.

You'll thank me in 25 years and your G will be a fond memory.

Thank you for the welcome

And I'm still in college so I'm getting there, I saved up $15,000 to put mods on after I bought the vehicle.

What do you want out of the vehicle as the end result? $15k for mods/changes go quickly if you have decided on lots of body mods.....

I'm really looking for performance mods to start, I liked the ARK Exhaust system but I'm not sure what type of headers to get? And then anything else you have in mind would be helpful.

I thought about headers but for the amount of effort to get them installed, vs the few HP you would gain, I felt it was not worth it.

Basic Performance bolt-on's for the G are:
- catback exhaust
- intakes
- ECU tune (look into Uprev)

Next step:
- hi-flow cats
- clutch/flywheel (for manual)
- VB mods (auto)
- lightened pulleys
- headers
- intake manifolds
- lightened driveshafts
- Nitrous?

Final
There are also turbo and SC offerings if you want to max it up a bit.

Start with the basics and then go there. If you already want everything right off the bat and have 15k why don't you go ahead and buy for a SC/TT configuration and not waste time?

Thanks for all the help with this, I really was trying to figure out a good starting point.

And as for the SC/TT con. I wasn't sure how much that would cost?

GTM Stage 1 SC kit is 6k-6500 for the base kit, plus installation of course. That's 500hp (crank) @ 8psi. Stage 2 is 600hp and 6600-7700 dependent on the kit. Stillens SC kit is 6300-6700 bux. Greddy TT kit is somewhere around 8k or higher I guess depending on the kit.

I prefer the R2C intake system instead of the Injen SRI. You won't need K&N panel filters if you get a SRI. Hotchkis sways are good stuff. Other stuff looks fine but you can probably do better price wise than getting everything Stillen unless that's what you want. From a SC perspective Stillen does have some warranty support for a kit that is installed by Infiniti service center. Otherwise, if you do it yourself you won't get that. If you go Stillen then I would suggest using a different ECU tuner and getting it professionally tuned before you put any miles on it.

For pricing on alternative parts I suggest TunerzStore.com as that's where I get all mine from. Mike's a good guy and he's a moderator here as well (RED_DET). I'm sure he will pop in and give you some additional advise.

Welcome aboard and glad to see you chose the G37 platform.

My recommendations would be as follows:

R2C Intake
ARK Exhaust
ARK HFC's ( Pre Orders taking place now)
Suspension (lowering springs or coils)
Brake component upgrade, at minimum pads, lines and fluid.

From there you will have completely transformed the stock G37 into something that puts a smile on your face day in and day out.

We also offer Client Project installs on multiple items if you are close to the area.
