my o3.5 5AT raced a 04 mustang yesterday. too much torque at the low end to keep up from a dead stop. You can possibly take them if u start at maybe a rolling 30 or 40.

I thought that I had read where some sedans were faster than the coupes depending on year. I do know that I was behind my wife (05 sedan) at a light and I was in my cobra (310+ hp). When it turned green, she took off and it was all I could do to keep on her bumper! She did get a little jump since she was in front, but once it gets rolling it really goes! And, YES, mods do make a difference!I've got to get one of those spacers next!!

MT specs: 2005 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L V8 0-60: 5.1 1/4: 13.5

The G35x is around 0-60: 6.5 1/4: 14.8

Now, the '07 G35 Sedan was tested 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with a 13.9 1/4 by C&D. Not too shabby.

Wow, I didn't know the new sedan was in the 13s...I wonder what my 05 coupe can do with my mods. (need exhaust/tires before I go to the track)

Well, the '07 sedan is. The '06 was in the mid 14's. Power of the VQ35HR

I think a stock coupe any year would give a mustang a good run. Once they get rolling they move. The 07 though has the 306hp engine, and 268lbs tq at 4800rpm,so it will deffinitely pick up. I can't wait to start the modding,as in it begins tomorrow.

Any mods you do, document the process for an article to be added to NICO.

I may pick up a '07 G tomorrow. Not sure yet.

LOL, I wish my 3500 lb G had around 368- 400 ft/lbs of torque! My old 427 stroker dynoed at 715 ft/lbs at 4200 rpm, and close to 500 ft/lbs at 2000 rpm....I really miss all that torque. :-(

What mustang right now that's new has 368hp and 400lbs of tq, The gt new is said to be rated at 300hp,which means crank it's probably what 260hp at wheels.I don't know, but that's just a guess.I can look it up. The only one I knew I believe I might be right would be the 2003 svt cobra with the sc,which was I believe said to have 390hp at the crank, which could give you the 368 ponies you listed. Please help me out there, but I think it would still be a close race for a new gt. Now I wish I had your 427 cobra.don't get me wrong I love mustangs, but I don't think either of these cars are all that stock, but I do think it would be a good race. I was debating on that light pea soup green color I guess with the red leather int,I'm glad I didn't though haha.
