i really love my spec-v but i also have fallen in love with the G35x. since i live in WA the road conditions here suck a lot; thats what originally made me look at the G35x. Since it's all wheel drive i figure i would gain some handling on wet and snowy roads. So i'm wondering if anyone has put they're Spec-v up against a G35. I'm pretty sure the stock G35 is faster than the stock spec-v, but i'd like to hear some actual accounts of comparison on the road.

i cant decide if i should bite the bullet and trade in for a G35x.

Sure it's faster, but more than that too. Handling is better, 4wd. The G35x is 4wd but it drives with the feeling of beeing a rwd car, it will turn better too.A stiffer chassis. Better confort. It's more luxury too. More room for passengers. It's hard to compare a car that maybe worth half to the G35x. It can only be better in every point. Maybe gonna drink gas a little more but heck, for the ''+'' would get, got for it.

I'll wait a year before deciding. Gas prices is most likely going to keep going up with Tata giving lots more people the ability to buy a car in India. You'll need premium for the G35.

Need premium with the SpecV too. Anothr good point about the G, you got the VQ35 as powerplant. A V6 that doesn't need to make is proof anymore compare to the QR25.

how's the fuel consumption in the G35. The spec-v gets on average about 21mpg, depending on how the vehicle is driven.

I know a G35 will blow the doors of any stock spec-v in most catagories, but has anyone had luck with modding they're spec-v to put up against a G35.

Also, are there any known problems with the G35 motor?

I own both, you are comparing apples to oranges. My G is RWD though.

Both cars in stock form, the G runs 8-10mph faster in the 1/4 mile, which is alot.

The only issues with the VQ is that some have oil consumption issues, but whats new, the QR does as well.

The wife drives the Spec V daily and gets around 20-21mpg city driving. When I drive the G around the city, average 18-19mpg, depending on your driving habits. The Spec V pulls down 30+mpg on the hwy and the best I got in the G was 28-29mpg. I went almost 500miles on a 20gal tank. I have only added an intake and motor mount inserts on the Spec, suspension will be coming in the near future and maybe a cat back. I have put a nismo s tune suspension on the G along with intake, plenum spacer, rays 350z track wheels and the car handles like a dream. Even with both cars modded evenly, there still wouldn't be a comparison in my book.

it depends on how you are comparing them and truth is you cant.

if the G35x feels like RWD it is because at full tarmac speed it is. the ATTESA 4wd is not full time, only conditions dictate.

Like RED said, these are completely different cars.

It comes down to whether you have the money to spend. The G is going to cost you more in price and in gas, but if you keep the car for many years it'd probably be worth it to have more room, more power, and an overall better driving experience.
