Hello,
I'm new to this Website/Forum. What prompted me to sign up here and learn all I can about my car is because I got taken in by Sears. And, I've had it. I have a '04 G35 Automatic Sedan w/o the navigation system or the bluetooth. I already have 96,700 on it. I'm about to reach the mileage for the warranty and am scared. I'm a single mother about to get laid off by Anthem Blue Cross. I very naive about cars. I've taken my car in to Sears and to the Dealers only since I've had my car, I purchased it used in 2007. So, far nothing major all maintenance. There were a few things that were covered by the Warranty which was wonderful. I'm really happy with my car.
This last time I took my car in to Sears and purchased a set of 4 tires w/ alignment, balance & roadside assistance. Driving home I notice the balance was still off. I meant to take it in but procrastinated for about a month. So, this past Nov. 25 I took it into my Dealer as they had a special on Oil Change. While it was there they check my tire pressure and found that the one of the Tire Pressure Sensor was damaged. They told me that the whoever last serviced my tires broke the Sensor and would cost me $255 + tax to replace it. I was upset. I called Sears and spoke with the Manager, of course, they denied it. I went ahead and had it replaced and the next day went to Sears and spoke with the Manager personally with the broken Sensor in hand and pleaded my case with no success. He again denied responsibility. I was upset to say the least. I left and looked into getting advice on going to small claims court. After looking at the invoice more carefully I noticed they charged me for 4 new TPS along with the maintenance kit which was $47. The more I was furious so I took to Facebook and posted what happened. It wasn't long after that I got a response stating that they would help resolve my situation and the next day I got a call back from the Manager who stated that he was willing to fully reimburse me for cost of replacing the broken TPS as well as the 4 TPS that was also charged in exchange that I go back on Facebook and state there that issue resolve and satisfied with the results which I did, BUT I am not happy at all. The following Monday I brought my car back in to get other things done (maintenance) and come to find out that they had to redo the alignment, rebalance the tires & the Shims on the rear Brakes were gone. Well, the last one who serviced my Brakes last was Sears. So, by the time I left with my car I spent almost $1,700. Yup!
So, I'm done being naive. I want to learn more about my car before I take it in. So, that is why I am here.
