has anyone added the unorthodox racing ultra ss pulley set? how did it go and what does it accomplish?

what do they mean about underdriving, and not recomending it?

(see link for what i am talking about)

Worth-while to do??

Anyone added a low temp thermostat? any difference? Made quite a bit in my pops vette.

Also, i know that it has been asked before - but can someone please explain what the plenum spacer does? why is the copper better in snowy conditions?

Thanks for all the help.

G's up!

Alright, Someone brought up the UR pully set. I really like the summary of the whole thing. BUT. I have heard that if you intend to go FI the pully set must be removed. Please, I would really like an educated response to this as since I heard this I have been on the fence. The $350 could be saved for the SC kit or the ECU reflash.

Bumping for another question. Will disconecting my third brake light make my spoiler leds brighter?

From the Q45 Forum:

We had a discussion about lightweight and underdrive pulleys awhile back. This was PopPop's opinion:

There is no real HP gain in the Under drive systems! The UDS frees up the HP lost threw lost threw over driven accessories! The larger pulley will drive accessories slower reducing their parasitic HP lost! You have the reduction of wear and extends parts life! All engines will not benefit from UDS and the best and safest two to UD is the Power steering Pump and Water Pump! There's no real gain from A/C! The Alternator slowing may damage or under charge electrical system and damage regulators and ECU!

Elwesso also looked into it and decided he didn't think much of the potential "improvement" either - maybe 5-10 hp improvement on the VH45DE.

But it will vary from engine to engine.

No. They are on seperate circuits.

However, if you have spoiler LED's, I'd disconnect the CHMSL anyway, it looks goofy to have both.

I have thought about disconnecting the third light but it is way brighter than the spoiler leds. I think the dealer has shafted me on the leds. They are very dim and I would almost want to replace them if I could. But I appreciate all the input. Thx
