G35 Manual Trunk unlock

On my '03 G35 Sedan, the manual trunk opening mechanism isn't working. I can only open the trunk with the remote key. Anyone had this problem? Is there a fuze or connection I can check. It seems that whatever is suppose to happen when you unlock the car doors (condition for allowing the trunk to be opened manually) is not happening.
