Ill be the first to admit that I love the sound of the G35. Its not too ricer sounding and not too quiet. Does anyone know a way to get close to that note on a 4th gen? Is it the way that nissan has the muffler tuned or does the length of the piping/bends in the piping play a role?

My brother brought up the idea of transplanting a G35 muffler onto my maxima and that might reproduce that note if its all in the muffler.

Pipe diameter, length and angle of the bends have as much to do with the sound as the muffler does. Look into a Flowmaster muffler, with 2.25"-2.5" piping. That will give you a good deep sound, with no pop or ricey sound.
