I had a little race with a 05-06 volvo S60R today at the lights in my 05 G35 coupe (manual)... and i.. unfortunately lost... not by much... i'm sorry if i let you g35 owners down... i feel like crapone of the reason for the loss could be due to the fact that i shifted too early... shifted around 5200rpm... and also the fact that the A/C light was on..

anyways... i noticed that the S60R had the performance tires one a 18... or 19 inch rims.. while i was on a 17 inch winter tires (not performance tires)

could the difference in tires fluxuate the acceleration??? the race was on a straight strip of road... would i have been able to beat him with my 19 inch summer performance tires??

Did you experience a loss in traction? the only thing that would've affected the race was if you raced him from a dead stop or a pretty slow roll and had alot of wheel spin, If your wheels didnt spin much and you got going I dont see them making much of a difference.

Got beat by a Volvo.

Best not to admit to that on the internet. You're marked for life now!

This would probably be the biggest factor.

The A/C light probably wouldn't be much of a factor at all. Typically, Nissans are designed to turn off the A/C compressor at full throttle.

It was the 300 hp that kicked your ***.

I didn't even realize they had a 300 HP version of the S60. It's a bit of a porker at nearly 3700 lbs though. Not that the G35 is a lightweight. You would still do much better shifting at or near redline.
