I am a future 03/04 G35 owner and was wondering what would be the best auto security alarm to get for it. i'm looking for something that can pretty much do it all. something that has a great range, remote start, looks sleek not bulky (the remote) and even sounds cool from when you arm it to when you disarm it. please, anything will work, whether it is the exact model or just a brand name. there are soo many and i tried researching it but there are just too many alarms that boast their performance. i have seen my local car stores sell these brands: viper, code alarm and crime stopper. Pwweeeeez help me!!!

oh yea, i have also seen some alarm packages on the internet with a camera...this is not needed.

i had python and viper on 2 of my cars...they are made by the same company. but i had remote start with the lcd pager. its possible to have remote start on a 6spd but i don't recommend it. but i loved both of them...the alarm remote was loud enuff to wake me up if someone messed with my car. alarm was expensive but worth it

If you're looking for just a more comprehensive alarm system, then you might consider a piggyback alarm. The factory alarm will trigger When the door is opened without using the keyfob or a key. The factory immobilizer system will keep someone from stealing the car better than any alarm as long as you take care of you keys. You won't believe how many cars get stolen when people leave their keys in their car...especially with the engine running. Better still, I had a couple theft claim investigations that I conducted in which the car was stolen while the owner was getting something from the trunk with the engine on. For people that make a habit of this, it's really only a matter of time. In many cases, the car is recovered with no damage simply because the thief used it to get to where they were going and left the car there.

i think all g35 comes with a factory alarm and theft immobilizer. i want a new one bc the g35 remote is kinda....well....ugly? can i say that? is that too noobish to say? well, tha's what i think and i want a car that has that "beep beep" sound to it when you arm it and such. and remote start is cool too but i metioned this all at hte beginning.

i don't even plan on modding my car that much, if anything maybe get an intake for it. it's just that i am schooling in UT san antonio. and there have been an awful high auto theft and breakin rate this year higher than anywhere else in the city.

otherwise, thanks a bunch for the info and tips. i am thinking i might go with the viper alarm so far since i know a some places that sells it. if anyone else has got some more suggestions, please keep posting!!

thanks a bunnchy

my friend is a reseller/installer in socal and he always recommends a code-alarm. viper/pythons are low-ends. i don't have it on my g35 but i have it another car for last 7 years and never had any issues.

I haven't seen anything from code-alarm that would indicate they are any better than any other brand. Higher end alarms typically just cost more and each company has their higher priced models. They are pretty comparable when you consider costs. I've run Viper alarms on 3 of my own cars and several of my friend's and family's cars I've never run into any problems with them, save for a worn remote on my dad's truck (work truck that sees about 5 times the use of an average car and a remote that is in his pocket while he is at his jobsites).

After extensive research and forum reviewing, i have concluded that i perfer the Viper alarm because of all-around features. looks, sound, protection, price etc. the clifford g5 is a bit over the top and im really into the code alarms looks. my friend also has a viper alarm system and recomends it as well. i just need to go around to some shops and find their rates.
