I read the specs. I read the reviews. I read the differences. Yes, I can take a test drive but it will not give me a long term view.

Do any of you G25 owners regret not getting a G37 (G35 used)? I assume price was the issue you got a G25. After the new car excitement wears off, it's "just a car." Are you still happy you got the G25 or do you wish you had more (power)? Even if you are not a power junky, do you feel the extra power adds to the G experience long term?

IMO, part of getting a G is the "experience." If I need "just a car" I might as well get a Altim 2.5S (no disrespect to Altima owners).

This is quite an interesting question. Do we have any active G25 members here?

We purchased the G25 Journey back in August and really like it - especially my wife. The smaller engine is certainly adequate for our purposes. Remember, the G25 should be around $4000 cheaper than the G37 and also get 3-4 mpg better mileage economy. The G25 was also the only car we saw that did not force one to buy the expensive Nav package (not as useful as a portable GPS unit) in order to get the backup camaera (useful).

Also, the G25 rides and handles more like a sports sedan than other manufacturers offering in the same price range. In fact, the general feel is similar to our other vehicle, a 2011 Mazda Miata.

One thing to be aware of is we are still waiting for the G25 Bluetooth software patch (call waiting was not properly supported). Infiniti has indicated that they are working the issue.

We also have a Nuvi 855 that we use. It gets expensive when you buy integrated Navs for 2 or more cars (something like $3000-$4000 more per vehicle). Also, its pretty expensive ($200-$300) to update your maps relative to a personal GPS unit. Anyway, the G25 (2011) did not offer a Nav package but did include the backup camera - which was the unbundled option we were looking for.

Out of curiosity, have you had any instances of the Infiniti Nav locking up, etc.? This seems to be an infrequent occurrence of all personal GPS units.

I have had no issues with the Infiniti Nav other than not finding new streets, which has only been an issue once. I have an older Garmin Nuvi 260w and it takes forever to lock onto satellites or locks up.

I did a test drive of a new 2011 G25X in May, 2011. I liked the car and the acceleration was similar to that of my old Lexus RX300 so that wasn't a problem. I wanted integrated Nav because of theft issues. I was using a dash mount in the Lexus just so there wouldn't be any circles from the suction cups on the windshield. (Also, I had to buy a new windshield mount twice because the hot sun melted the rubber of the suction cups to the glass.)

The MPG difference isn't enough for me because I drive only 6,000 to 7,000 miles a year.

The additional power of the larger engine is bad for me because of my medical condition, lead foot. So far, no tickets though.
