Every band has their heyday, and 1987 was it for GnR with AFD. Lies wasn't bad, Use Your Illusion had a few good songs (ones that didn't get any radio play) and the Spaghetti Incident were just covers.
I have listened to a few minutes of each of the songs, and it's nowhere near a true GnR album. It sounds like what Megadeth did with Risk. Techno type tracks that just doesn't fit what the band used to do.
Now, I am all about bands trying new things, I followed Metallica through Load, Re-Load and St. Anger, but even this album dissapoints me, and I used to be a HUGE fan of GnR. I had two walls of my bedroom covered with pictures and posters of the band while I was in high school. But now, I'll just pop in AFD and rock out with raw, uninhibited in your face rock.
So long GnR, it was a good run while it lasted.
