I could sure use some advice on my 03 G-35 Coupe. Whatever the chip is in the console has died and I have no audio and the AC has defaulted to automatic. The outside air temp was 105* last week when I drove to western NC, but I had to keep rolling the window down to warm up. Since the fan runs at max, it was actually quieter at 75 mph (a gentle romp for this car) with the window down than up.

Now the driver's side window motor has died (again).

Manual transmission: the gears clash going into 3rd, unless I'm slow and deliberate.

I dont like or trust the only Infiniti dealership in southside VA. They suggest a $2150 transmission job *might* solve the problem, recommend spending $2250 for a new circuit board and radio, and will fish around to see what the window issue might be.

58 K miles on the car. I love the car. I hate the car.

Sell it as is? Fix it and sell it?

Welcome to NICO! Sorry to hear about your problems...but they actually are common issues with older G's.

For the AC/Radio, you need a new control board. Check out this website that has done a ton of replacements: http://www.shortcircuitrepair.com/

Drivers' window: try the reset procedure (search the board/FAQs)...if that doesn't work, try to replace it yourself so save some $$.

The Transmission: sounds like a syncro problem...only fix is a new transmission. They say it might fix the problem because it's an issue with most manuals...if it's out of warranty, I'd just live with it.

Yes on the A/C radio fix, might find a local person to do it (there's one in Mocksville, NC that repaired mine for $250).

Might try to find a transmission in junkyard to replace yours, should be much cheaper. http://car-part.com to search junkyards.

Damn! It was Mocksville I went to that blistering hot weekend that I froze in car. And now the driver's side window is stuck closed. Another new motor ordered....

Yeah, I really like it lots-a terrific drive to work, on twisty roads, or running with the fast pack on the interstate. But I think it's time to part ways. I left in running for a while this AM outside the mechanic's shop hoping someone would steal it!

:(

Would work better leaving it running it a worse part of town?
