Hey guys,

I am replacing the fuel injectors in my brothers Z32. I have already pulled the plenum and am now searching for the correct fuel injectors. The stock 370cc (early style) were the ones in there already, but my question is, how do i know what style fuel rail he has? The fuel rail that's in it, looks like the pictures of the new style rails, but it has early style injectors, and i can't find any pictures online anywhere of the early style fuel rail.

Another question i have is, to convert everything to the new style, besides the connectors, injectors, rail, and grinding that small portion off the bridge to injector #1, is there anything else that needs to be done? Thank you all in advance. I apologize if these questions sound a little dumb, but I am a Mitsu guy.

If the injectors on the car use the old style connector you should be fine with the old style injectors. If it uses the newer style connector you need the new style injectors, it's just that simple. If you are really worries just ohm the injectors https://z32.wikispaces.com/Fuel+Injector

Don't forget the adapter kit too.

Its the old style connectors, but what I'm unsure of is the fuel rail, I'm not sure which rail I need to order. It looks like the new style rail from pictures online, but I can't find a picture of an old style rail. But why I'm confused is because it def looks like new style rail, with old style injectors however. Thanks again!

Old style and new style rails are nearly identical, the internal bosses are different which is why you need adapters to run new style injectors in an old style rail. I'm not sure why you thin your rail look liek a new style withotu knowing what an old style looks like.

The reason why i am saying the rails look like new style rails is because they look like new style rails. I'm just assuming however. If as stated above, "that they are nearly identical", what would make me think otherwise? That is problem i am having. I do not know which rail is currently in the car.

The way you tell is by the injector. If you have new style injector you either have a new style rail or one that has the adapters to use the new style injectors. If you have old style injectors you have an old style rail and thusly need an old style injector, not sure what part of this is escaping you.

Nothing is "escaping me". What I'm simply trying to say is that the current fuel rail, is completely identical to a new style rail. But is there a sure way to tell otherwise? Are there any measurement differences?

The difference is on the inside, the new style injectors have a smaller internal seat requiring an adapter to use new style injectors in an old style rail, which raises the injector requiring spacers under the screws for the caps or a different caps.

If you have old style connectors and old style injectors you have an old style rail.

If you have new style connectors and no spacers under the cap or fancy caps you have a new style rail.

If you have new style connector and new style injectors and spacers under the screws of the caps or fancy aftermarket caps you have an old style rail.

If you still cannot figure this out I can not help you.

^^^agreed with evildky, simply put, P1 old style injectors will NOT fit into a new style rail. Also, the lower plenums are different, between the types of rails.
