my 93 wouldn't start, found that spark plugs were wet with fuel. found one bad injector and replaced it. replaced plugs and drove it about 60 miles to mechanic. It wouldn't start again, he replaced the fuel pressure regulator with no results. Car still won't start, btw, he put in another set of plugs. fuel has alsogotten into crank case. Would appreciate any advice from anyone who has experienced similar problems.

either you've got another bad injector, or more likely a torn o-ring.It's more probably that's it's a torn o-ring, and on the positive side their cheap to fix.

Kraz, thanks for input. Would one O ring or injector contaminate all cylinders? Is the O ring the large one around the injector?

How did you determine this?

Are you getting a good, consistent spark?

Why was your regulator replaced? Did he even check fuel pressure? Did he check compression? Check for codes?

A torn injector O ring will likely not cause your car to not start.

hey, i had a similar problem , well actually am having. After some fuel problems with my car (long story) I bought some rebuilt injectors. put them in and the car wouldnt start, so I eventually pulled the fuel rail off a little to see if i could see them spray and they just had fuel running past them ( a lot of fuel) so I pulled them out and sure enough it was the small o-ring that goes around the bottom of the injector they were cut! I should have checked them before i put them in but for something that costs as much as they do you would think they would have came with good o-rings. But yes bad o-rings did keep my car from starting. now all of mine were bad , so i dont know if that helps you out but its something to look at. good luck, my car hates me !

Rucca, thanks for your response. I did not check the fuel pressure, no check engine light came on, so I assumed there would be no code. Is that wrong? Obviously, I'm no mechanic. The car started after the intitial problem after changing the plug and constricting the fuel line going to the rail. I assumed from that that it might be the pressure regulator (wrong). My daughter uses cheap gas and I wonder if she got a bad load of ethanol. There have been cases in alabama that had higher than allowed precentage of ethanol. One cyclinder was missing, a new injector solved. gas is still fouling the plugs. Note the next posing. maybe all of the "O" rings went bad. What else could cause all the plugs to foul?

There are a few codes that can be set with no CEL coming on. It is a good idea to check codes before starting any diagnosis.

Have you checked to make sure you are getting a good consistent spark as I recommended?
